A castle is a castle is a castle! However, whilst you are in Carcassonne, visit this one and enjoy the experience.

The castles are very well restored, they say that it's as close to the authentic castle as possible.Nevertheless, for people who travel much and have seen a lot of castles, this one will not be a great discovery. Possibly, you will see nothing new. A...More

Puilerons chateau was easier to reach than either Quéribus or Peyrepertuse, the latter two we abandoned as both drives are not for the faint hearted. Being a London driver the sheer drops with no barriers were not what we’re used to!! Puilerons was a wooded...More

We were passing by and had a very nice stroll through the castle, however it all seemed a little 'gaff' to be honest, totally set up as a tourist trap. Worth visiting for sure, however I wouldn't spend more than a few hours there.

A must see visit and is great to walk down the streets of this century castle which is still working in our modern world. Great place to wander around and just enjoy the ambience.

Beautiful and dominant structure. Lovely little village inside the walls for eating and shopping - well worth a visit

This is a stunning destination. It may well be much of the figment of the imagination of violet le duc, but it has to be seen.

Hope this isn't too late, either. Get a rental car from any of the usual suspects and a 'passport' from the first tourist office you bump into. It costs €2 and offers discounts plus gratuity for children. I wouldn't say... More
