We stopped at Villesquelande a very small village. Small supermarket that also served fresh bread, cooked chickens etc. All made on site. However for 90cent the owner delivered our supplies to our boat which was great on a very hot afternoon. Well worth a stop

We took a boat ride from near the Carcassonne train station towards Narbonne. The boat ride was about 8 euros a person, and lasted about an hour and a half. It is well worth it. There is a view of La Cité in the distance, and the boat goes through 2 locks, which is fun.

We flew from Seattle to Paris to Toulouse. Took the train from Toulouse airport to city center. Had a very nice stay in Toulouse. Beautiful city. We took the train to the Locaboat base at Negra. The base is a flat two mile walk through farmland from the train station. Not an unpleasant walk if you don't have excess luggage.... More

We started in Castlenaudary and ended in Trebes. What an adventure - 33 locks!! The canal wasn't crowded and the sightseeing was beautiful! We slept along the banks at Castlenaudary, Bram, and Trebes - but used the harbor in Carcassone. Used our bicycles and rode into quaint villages to eat and explore. Visited the castle in Carcasson at night and... More

3 day 4 night trip provided through Le Boat was terrific Payment arrangements through River and Boat were very difficult. First their website would not accept US credit cards, despite numerous tries and emails about the issue. That required wiring the money, which I did all at once rather than deposit plus final payment because of the complexity. Then due... More

This review specifically relates to taking older family members on the canal for their “bucket list” trip. If you’re fairly physically fit, a capable motorboat operator, and know clearly what the canal is about, skip this. There are a few key points in regard to persons with limited mobility/fitness: (1.) The Locaboat Negra marina close to Toulouse is outside of... More

We rented a Corvette A for 2 people (slept 4-6) from Port Cassieres to Beaucaire for a week. It was 30 degrees plus and very difficult to get out of the sun as the only shade on deck was a parasol that you couldnt move around because it was fixed to a table. it was hotter inside and although we... Our first barge cruising experience was a 5 night / 6 day cruise on board the barge Mirage down the Canal du Midi with Pascal and Mimi. What a truly awesome experience, every day had a wow factor. Pascal and Mimi carefully planned the cruise so that each day we went to a different attraction with plenty of time to... More

We just loved this trip from Le Boat. We went from Narbonne to Trebes in one week on a 43 foot long Royal Mystique boat. This is the perfect boat for two couples as there are two decent size cabins. The steering is a little sluggish so a light touch on the wheel is required. It is very easy to... More
