What a lovely way to spend the morning on a two hour trip along the Canal du Midi, with its history and also the beautiful setting. It was gentle and relaxing, perfect for a holiday like ours. You must do this boat trip, just to see the beautiful countryside, the fascinating locks and lock-houses.

We have just done a two week canal boat trip from Negra to Lattes and would recommend it for a fun and relaxing holiday.

Excellent cycle paths form Bordeaux to Toulouse but after about 20 miles outside Toulose you need a mountain bike Beautiful countryside with field after field of sun flowers Lots of shade so never too hot but after Carcassone less shade and in August it's is roasting hot

We booked a Linssen Sturdy 29 foot boat with France Afloat for a week in early July 2016, starting at Bram. Our party consisted of 3 adults and the boat was large enough to accommodate us during the day, although the sleeping arrangements in the main cabin take a little getting used to. Having stayed near Bram the night before... More

Two years ago three other couples and my wife and I started planning a week ago together cruising on the Canal Du Midi. We looked at a lot of options, and finally picked chartering the Enchanté barge as it looked very nice. Our expectations were exceeded in almost every category! Despite a week of unseasonably cool and rainy weather, we... More

We are a family of 5 (with 3 teens) and have just returned from a 5 week trip to Europe. Our time on the canal was our down time in the middle of our trip. It was just lovely floating along and gave everyone time to recharge the batteries. Most nights we elected to pull up out in the country... More

We stopped at Villesquelande a very small village. Small supermarket that also served fresh bread, cooked chickens etc. All made on site. However for 90cent the owner delivered our supplies to our boat which was great on a very hot afternoon. Well worth a stop

We took a boat ride from near the Carcassonne train station towards Narbonne. The boat ride was about 8 euros a person, and lasted about an hour and a half. It is well worth it. There is a view of La Cité in the distance, and the boat goes through 2 locks, which is fun.

We flew from Seattle to Paris to Toulouse. Took the train from Toulouse airport to city center. Had a very nice stay in Toulouse. Beautiful city. We took the train to the Locaboat base at Negra. The base is a flat two mile walk through farmland from the train station. Not an unpleasant walk if you don't have excess luggage.... More
