These gardens and there are multiple gardens, take a staff of 300 to cultivate and care for are phenomenal. We walked through them and witnessed the fountains and the rich colors that rocked our world.

The gardens designed for Louis XIV in 1661 created the benchmark for European gardens of that century. If you love gardens you might need to allow more than one day to visit everything. Even though you can hire a golf cart, bike or even a Segway (insert groan from me here), it would be tough to see this amazing place. Buy a ticket for the entire place, not just the gardens as there is some amazing history here. Cost is around $15 Euro and worthwhile. With 3 students in tow we were exhausted at the end of the day with all the walking. According to my pedometer, I'd done well over 35,000 steps. I'd recommend you get there early if you want some good photo opportunities as in June it got busy very quickly.
There are plenty of places to eat, toilets are easily found and a lovely gift shop inside and at the entrance.
Again - take your time and soak up everything this place has to offer.

This is the location that you will find the royal carriages collection that are real example of royal grandeur. It is away from the main attraction and I do hope that your tour includes this bit.

Nothing grand aside from the size. 2 stories, 2 buildings, and could hold thousands of horses--not your standard stable...

These gardens are gorgeous, however, be ready for lots of walking! You also have the option of renting a golf cart, and enjoying a boat ride in the lagoon. We will definitely try those options next time we visit.

Its a very good place to see. It is situated behind the main palace. The adjacent garden and the status are very beautiful.

Don't think you can visit and even begin to scratch the surface of this place. We rented the golf cart and were able to see more than we would have if we had tried to do it on foot. We were limited on time so we had the cart for 2 hours and were able to see so much! Around every corner and down every path there is something beautiful and unexpected.

The gardens are huge and very well maintained. It is possible to take a mini-train from the palace grounds or walk around (its a bit of long walk though), There are huge crowds at the ticketing counter for the trains and the prices are a bit steep as well.

Spent approximately 30 mins here and that was enough time to take in the detail of the carriages, sleds, etc. I'm glad we didn't actually miss seeing this.
