About
It would take you 2 days to visit all the gardens and to discover the mysteries of the extraordinary park from Versailles. Thanks to this circuit, you will be able to visit the main fountains and statues of the park, to go from the hameau de la Reine to the petit Trianon in a few minutes without tiredness, and to see some of the most beautiful "spots" from which the castle can be seen.

Sorry for the lateness of this review. I did not realize until now that the Segway Operator was listed in Trip Advsior.
My family went to the shop on Friday July 3, 2009 and opted for the Versailles gardens tour. Absolutely amazing and the most efficient way to see the gardens.
We ended up with a private tour in English because no one else was there to join us. The tour was 2 hours and Sophie was our guide. She took us through the forest, to Marie Antoinette's estate, pointed out the Prime Minister's residence, by the fountains, by the pools, by the statues, everything.... It was arguably the highlight of my trip to Paris. I had never seen anything like this before in my life.
I definitely recommend the Segway tours of the Versailles gardens.

What a great way to see the whole park - we took the 2-hour trip which was excellent. Segways are remarkably easy to 'drive' and great fun. Excellent guide. Can be difficult to find the start point for the tour (nobody we asked seemed to know) so make sure you phone and confirm this - booking advance via Internet we didn't get this info. Once you know where to go it's easy!

We had an amazing time on the segway tour through the park. It was the highlight our trip. Our first time on one of these and our guide Pierre took us through the mechanics of operating the Segway and let us practice until we were confident. We were off in 15 mins.
Traveling through the park, other visitors were on foot, bikes, horses or boats, but by far we had the best time on our Segways! Would highly recommend Versaille Events, the Segway tour and Pierre!

A friend had recommended Segway tours to us, and it was just perfect for seeing Versailles. We were able to cover the grounds in 2 hours and learned quite a bit a long the way. My 12 and 14 y.o's said it was one of their favorite parts of our trip to Europe this summer, and I'd agree!

This was, without question, the highlight of our trip to Paris for our 12- and 14-year-olds. They liked it way better than the night bike tour of Paris. Make sure you book ahead. You meet at a store-front outside, but right next to the gardens. You do not have to go into the palace grounds to get to the office. We called the morning we went and the afternoon tours were booked. We ended up on an 11 am tour with just the four of us. The Versailles Events folks were so friendly, they let my son borrow a coat and gloves because it was so cold when we were there. The weather was overcast and gloomy, but we still had a fabulous time. We had never been on Segways before. One word of caution -- be careful when you ride between closely spaced posts (the kind to keep cars from driving somewhere). I wasn't paying attention and clipped the side of a low post and fell off the Segway. We got to Versailles around 10am and the line wasn't that long to get in (we had Museum Pass, but you still have to wait to go through security.) We raced through the palace to get to the Segway tour on time. Thought we'd hit the palace again afterwards, but the line to get through security at that point was at least 2 hours long! So we just ate in the gardens and called it a day. You do not have to pay or go through security to tour the gardens. You aren't allowed to take the Segway to all parts of the gardens, and the kids didn't really care too much about the history. It was a great place to take a first Segway tour.

So I took this tour with a friend and the tour guide was a young college student who was so engaging and fun the entire time I was on the Segway I just had a permanent smile on my face. We were on the Segway for almost 2 hours and we went through all of the I guess forest area and grounds around the pond he pointed out several things and gave us history behind it. It was my first time on a Segway and it was so easy.

It started out a bit unpleasant when we missed the VITY train to Versailles, but it turned into a fantastic day. On the 45 minute train ride to Versailles, I called the contact that was given letting them know we would be late for our tour. They said they would wait and sent Arman to get us started when we arrived. After a few minutes of pointers we were off (none of the four of us had ever ridden segway's before). My wife was the most apprehensive, was a bit slow at first and had a bit of the shakes on the first incline but Arman was there to help her through it. It's quite surprising how fast you get used to the control; it takes just a few seconds to find the balance and in two minutes you have full control (and feel like you have full control) of the movement.
Our guide spoke English very well and did a fantastic job keeping us engaged and having fun. We visited the whole area behind the palace which we would have never seen if not for the added mobility. The second best part was by the time we ate lunch and started our tour of the Palace, the crowds were generally gone so we got a lot of great pictures without the typical overwhelming horde of tourists. The tour company was friendly, and went much further than expected. It was a fantastic time that we (girls 14 & 16, and parents) remember as one of the best activities of the entire vacation. Absolutely recommended!

This was my second visit to Versailles. On the first visit I was disappointed that I couldn't see more of the grounds. The gardens and Versailles are huge and walking could never cover it.
I got the segway idea late, but the staff were wonderful and accommodated our small group off three graciously. Our guides were Nicolas and Maria. Their knowledge of the history of the area was amazing and their English was perfect.
The Segway machine looked a little "sketchy" at first and my 18 year old daughter was cautious as we started out. The staff were very patient with us and took their time making sure we were comfortable and safe. By the end of the tour we were all tolling around on the segways like they were attached to our feet from birth.

We purchased what we thought were round trip tickets on the RER to get from Paris to Versailles. Not sure if the communication problem led to our misunderstanding, but when we tried to head back to Paris, the tickets did not work. A manned window in the train station was closed so we tried the machines on site. They would not take American credit cards even if they were visa. No place for euros. Be sure you have a round trip ticket or check the window on arrival to purchase return tickets. We managed to exit through a handicap opening that stays open and took care of the problem at the other end. Of course, we stood in line for 45 minutes to find out our cards wouldn't work, so very aggravating. Learn how to say round trip in French. Might help too.

Dear RoadSavvy,
We are very sorry for your bad experience on your way back to Paris.
You probably did a mistake because we are selling Segway tours in the parc of the Château and not transfers from Paris.
Could you please cancel your opinion ?
Many thanks in advance,
Kind regards,
Diane Esnault

When you visit these gardens and inside the Palace, you would wish to be a king for at least one week in the 16th,17th centuries ! A magnificient place to be ! But if you want to visit inside the palace, be there as much as earlier in the morning. Actually, there are two places to be early in the mornings: The Louvre Museum and Versailles Palace.

Hello, my husband and I will be flying to Paris arriving on May 5th and leaving on Sat. the 6th. We would like to take a 1 or 2 hr Segway tour of the gardens. Since we will tour on Friday afternoon or Sat morning will there be a charge to enter the gardens? If so can we purchase these tickets through your company?
Do you have any tours that meet at your Versailles Events office on 8 rue de la Chancellerie instead of at the Grand Canal? This would be easier for us as we will be staying nearby @ the Ibis Versailles Chateau.
