Security was tight that day so the line was long, but once in, we were free to move around this amazing place... each turn was another magnificent example of royal excess and grandeur. Bring your best walking shoes as this place is huge... you want...More

During what they call Spectacles you have to pay an additional fee. We didn't see anything different. The gardens are interesting in their design, best seen from a distance. The fountains were full of algae. I imagine it would be very difficult to keep these...More

Went to the night show. Great atmosphere but do not get there too early. We visited in the day so we we knew where we were going to. Fireworks at the end worth staying for but its quite tiring wandering aroond for long periods.

Sadly there had been very heavy rain overnight, and the gardens were very wet. The vistas one might normally expect were obscured by mist. There was a lot of work going on in the gardens close to the Palace to mop up after the overnight...More

At least you can escape the crowds as the gardens are so very large. Be sure to see the Mirror Pool for it's music and fountains. I would advise you to take a picnic in with you, if you can carry it, but there is...More

We arrived at the palace around 10ish (RER C from Paris, highly recommend, very easy inexpensive) The line to get into the was ridiculously long so we headed to the gardens and were absolutely delighted that we made the right choice. Honestly the gardens are...More

The gardens here are mainly green with little if any flowering plants. The gardens themselves are very well kept and trimmed to perfection in very elegant patterns. There are also many ornate fountains. But they are not always on every day and on the days...More

Many of the water gardens were gated and locked so you couldn't even see much. The topiary needed pruning and the planting in the parterres was quite sparse. There was no information about the history of the gardens so we have no idea if this...More

Yes! They are golf carts 34 euro for 1 hour and 8 euro for every 15 minutes after. Great save for the legs.

Quite possible. I went on a Sunday. It wasn't overly crowded but the weather wasn't the best either. I think the nicer the weather the busier it will be.
