Close to Paris, it is a large green area ideal for walks and biking. It includes the famous gardens and the Palace, however it does not require to pay for the entrance (contrary to gardens and Palace). Free parking is available, but only from the...More

Parc de Versailles used to have easy access by walking down through the Gardens at the Palace of Versailles. You can still get there by paying to enter the gardens and walking down to the park. The park is still free and really quite beautiful....More

With the palace at our backs, we walked past the cafe and boat rental area on the canal and kept walking. This area had been the private hunting part of the palace grounds and it is certainly more natural (no formal shrubs here). The huge...More

The park grounds are vast and include so many areas worth exploring. You can walk forever, but probably better to take the petit train or rent a golf cart to explore on your own.

A really large and superb site that could take all day to go around. There are plenty of ways to do so as well, with bikes and golf carts to hire.

Very large and meticulously landscaped. It is really beautiful. You could spend several hours just admiring it. They rent golf carts by the hour so you don't have to walk to see everything. Lots of fountains. Very impressive.
