The wanton and disreputable Storyville was Lulu’s home until 1917 when it was eventually shut down. Yet Lulu’s infamy lingers in her newly adopted home, PIGALLE. Known as ‘Pig Alley’ this Parisian quartier has long been a haven of seduction and...more
We stumbled across this place on a Sunday evening. It has a tiny sign and a door that gives no clues away. There was live jazz and the atmosphere was excellent. Extremely friendly bar staff who genuinely looked like they were having so much fun....More
My wife and I went there last night for an evening drink after visiting the Louvre, and it impressed me immediately for its ambiance, cozy atmosphere, and a staff that makes you feel like a welcome guest in their home. Everyone on staff spoke English...More
Quirky speakeasy. It's quite small, not may places to sign but the staff do their best to make you feel comfortable. Decor is wicked. Drinks are great, served in inventive ways. Definitely worth a visit.
We entered this place on recommendation of a friend, but it was so full, noisy and extremely warm that it is really not a place to stay long.
The drinks were creative and the service friendly, even in those difficult conditions.

The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in
another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
