The place is busy with passengers and construction. It's having an upgrade across the site. Likely that Paris 2024 Olympics is the reason.

One of the busiest places in Paris, lots of people coming and going, trains going to a lot of places. Lots of TGV's. Places to eat and shop. Not many places to sit and wait. And not pretty. Functional.
