I always go to Eva Tralala (rue de Rivoli) when I am inParis and this weekend was dismayed to see and be told by the sales lady that the shops are closing soon (in hte next six weeks. Everything is on sale, I bought a pullover for 9 euro and a long cardigan for 15. There are lots of coats and jackets but as I already have a wardrobe full of outerwear, I didn't buy anything in that category.

For years my wife's favorite for bargain fashions, excellent staff. When the Carnavalet was open I would leave her for a later return. Alas, the owners will be managing the store and letting the staff go. For an improvement as claimed, we can't say, but mourn the tried and true help.

I have been in this shop during my last couple of visits to Paris. I could spend all day there! They have a huge assortment of styles, sizes and colors -- mostly in linen. I have several pairs of slacks and a dress. Definitely will go back when I have another opportunity to visit Paris.

A lot of the things in this store are large sizes, so if you're small you really have to dig. But it's well worth it. Also, a lot of earthy colors, so you have to dig for brights, pastels. Again, worth it. So, if you're not tiny and like earth tones, this is THE place for you. And, if you're small and like color, try it anyway. You may find something fabulous! I did.

This shop’s big SOLDES (sale) sign caught my eye when I exited the Luxembourg Gardens at St. Michel Boulevard, and I went over to investigate. Racks of colorful women’s clothing stood on the sidewalk for passersby to peruse. Merchandise included dresses, shirts and scarves. Linen seemed to predominate. I went inside and found rack after rack crammed with clothes, similar to displays at Nordstrom Rack. All items held reasonable price tags with a back room devoted to rock-bottom prices. Though there were myriad markdowns throughout the store, I thought that the original prices were quite reasonable for Paris. I noticed some large sizes, which can be hard to find in this city. Pants and jackets came in various lengths. Dresses and shirts showed off bright colors as well as subdued hues. The one clerk in the shop explained that the linen items are made in France. Thus, I think Eva Tralala would likely be a good place to browse through if well-made linen clothes with a French label appeal.
