We thought this was the best ice cream / gelato that we ate in Paris! Great location for those staying in or visiting Montmartre.

I love ice cream, have eaten it all over the world in large quantities, including many times and many years in Italy and France and especially Paris, and there are numerous famous name ice cream and gelato shops in Paris, so I don't take this lightly: Kosak is the best ice cream/gelato I've found in Paris yet. It's a bit out of the way - you have to walk a little down the northern side from Sacre Coeur, but it's so well worth it. So much so that we returned the next day
The "Rocher" flavor (chocolate and hazelnut and some crunchy praline parts) is amazing, but all other flavors we tried were equally good and very true to the actual flavor of what it's named for - passion fruit, melon, peach, hazelnut - I would recommend them all.
We chatted with the owner - it seems the store is owned by two women who take turns staffing it. The ice cream is made from all natural materials, and made by hand.

Fantastic! Super friendly and accommodating to our indecisive kids! Great ice cream ! We loved exploring this area with our ice creams in hand. They also sell lots of great chocolates!

I've been here 6 or 8 times in the last couple of years. The flavors are outstanding - this week I've had chocolate, peanut, pistachio, grapefruit, lemon, peach, passion fruit - all are wonderful. So true to their namesakes, and delightfully creamy. We first stumbled onto this place while visiting Montmartre, and keep coming back - even if it means taking an extra Metro ride out of our way! They also have an awesome collection of artisinal chocolate from around the world. It is worth trying a super-exotic chocolate bar once in a while just to see what chocolate can be!

We found Kosack last year and were eager to go back again this year. Of course we had some trepidations - would the ice cream that was some of the best I have ever tasted still be as good as we remembered? Not to worry, it's even better. The fruit flavors are amazing - Lychee, Mango, Passion fruit, raspberry, strawberry.. all taste exactly like the fruits, only somehow a little better. My new favorite is peche - peach - a flavor I would not have normally chosen.
New this year (I think) is a wall inside the store filled with chocolate bars from around the world. The owner seems to be both an enthusiast of chocolate as well as highly knowledgeable about it.
If I lived in Paris, I'd visit Kosak Glacier every few days and be as fat as a whale... so I guess it's good we are only on vacation.
