Address
Neighborhood: Opéra / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.

At the recommendation of a friend, we recently went to the hammam to relax on a rainy day in Paris. It is smaller than many we had been to before and it doesn't have a pool area but it has a good sized steam room and a small sauna. The relaxation area with endless mint tea is nice. It was quiet the day we went. The staff were friendly but really don't speak English. We spoke some french so got by. I also had the scrub (25 mins) which was excellent and great value. Made my skin feel new. A nice place to relax for a few hours.

I was here once before on a previous visit to Paris but decided to relive the experience with a massage and a gommage this time. The place is light and airy, unfortunately the is no jacuzzi or plunge pool but otherwise totally adequate. The gommage was wonderful as was the massage and left me feeling refreshed on a terribly hot parisien day . The young masseur was kind and attentive and it was well worth the money.
Most of the clientele, if not all except me, were local and many seem to know one another but they included me on the chat over mint tea!
The place is impeccable, not a speck of dirt anywhere and they supply flip flops, a bathrobe and towel and a pareo, all freshly laundered. I went on a mens day but there are mixed days too when bathing togs are worn.
Well worth a visit if you like being pampered
