We came to Club Rayé on a Friday night after reading about them on another website. The other website said it was free access for the show, but it was actually 25 Euros per person (with a glass of champagne included). We were very surprised by how intimate the atmosphere was. Club Rayé is in the cozy basement of the... More

Obviously not a place to order food. No mention of a jazz club downstairs or there were no patrons. 21 e for a plate of iceberg lettuce a sliced egg and disgusting chicken. Sadly disappointed. I can't believe anyone would eat there. The ambiance is nice but it dead.

Went in for a drink before heading home. The decor is tacky and the atmosphere was lifeless. They claim to be a piano bar, with nothing but a Yamaha keyboard to compensate. Place was immaculate, the staff were attentive. However that is all I can say for the place. The cocktails where expensive and they couldn't actually make any of... More

Club Rayé is a gem tucked away on Rue Dussoubs, just around the corner from hopping Rue Montorgueil. While it feels uniquely Parisian, it also has the air of a classic New York lounge from the 1920s. Chic and swanky—but with ZERO pretension. You feel at home right away with the friendly, bi-lingual staff, who by now, remembers my favorite... More

Went here for the NY eve with my boyfriend. And we had so much fun. The club is fantastic and I loved the interior decorations, they really put effort into it. The music was live performance and We enjoyed a jazzy easy-listening night. Nice staff. Cool cocktails especially the one with sake (can't remember the name). Only thing that bothered... More

Thanks to Maurizio and Dino for an excellent evening! It was fun! We also had the chance to meet other customers too! As for the musicians, what can I say? Mauricio's improvisation is second to none, and that voice.... that all too sexy voice of Dino... Fred Astair would be turning in his grave! We also had the chance for... More

A mixture of English speaking and French speaking staff - all a contribution to this friendly pocket of Paris. A pleasure to be in their company. Expertly decorated and you certainly wouldn't get bored looking around. Quite small but one could argue that it builds the place's character. A fine selection of alcohol but didn't have food. My tab was... More

My husband and I where in France to celebrate his birthday. We stumbled across this little gem. The main bar room has a cozy feel. We wanted to listen to some live jazz so we were taken down a cute stairwell that opened up to another bar and several rooms. What followed was an amazing evening of great music from... More

This is a sign that the Montorgueil neighborhood has become way chic. This may be the new Marais. Lots of bars around, and this is very high fashion, truly a beautiful interior. Designer cocktails, if that is what you want. Hip and young. Lots of Anglophones.

The atmosphere, the staff, the music, and the food (both taste and portion size) were all extraordinary. The dining room, the champagne bar, the classic movie room each just screamed "fun". Elegant, chic, and simply a great venue for an enjoyable evening out.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
