When confronted with a day in Paris where we had nothing booked, we contacted Stephen and asked if he could put together a walking tour for us. Rather than just suggesting and walking us through a pre-determined tour, he asked us questions about what we normally liked and what part of the city we would like to explore. After an exchange of texts and phone calls informing him that we would really like to experience the history and food of Le Marais in the 4th, we were booked. In less than a one day turn around, Stephen had us meet him near the neighborhood and took us to a local gourmet food shop where we received a wonderful introduction to some of the cheeses and pates of France. With this knowledge we assembled a wonderful picnic and began exploring the neighborhood. Walking through the narrow, crooked streets we were fascinated by the feel of the place and excellent descriptions of the history and changes that had taken place in the neighborhood. We also got in touch with the uniqueness of the place as so often comes from deep history and culture. As we continued through the Jewish quarter, we were also exposed to perhaps the world's best fallafel and a quite tasty rugelach. When we rounded out our picnic menu with some fine chocolates we then headed out to the Place des Vosges to eat. Once we sat, Stephen pulled out full place settings and bottles of wine - which he had carried in his backpack all throughout our tour. Once lunch was over, Stephen gave us great advice on more places to visit on our trip as he was familiar with our affinity for food and history. This experience was the true definition of a guide going above and beyond for his guests and I would recommend Stephen to anyone.

This is a must if you have never been to Paris! Stephen was a very knowledgable guide. We really enjoyed our time with him! I would highly recommend using him to take you some of the best sights in the city! He knows the city and manages the transportation to ensure you see much more than you would on your own. He was able to give us a lot of history at each of our stops and ensure we got a true feel for the city!

Stephen's guided tour was a great way for us to experience Paris for the first time. We were able to see most of the major sights that we wanted to see with a very comfortable passenger van for getting around. Stephen is knowledgable and passionate about his new home city. It was the right balance of lingering over the sights with keeping things moving. Great experience and highly recommended. We also visited Normandy the next day by train. Stephen accompanied us but arranged for a local guide. A powerful and moving experience made much better with a professional guide to describe the events of the D-Day invasion and liberation of France.

This was our first tour on arriving in Paris. It was a perfect choice. We chose a half day private tour that took in all the major landmarks. It was an ideal tour to get the flavor of Paris which then allowed you to decide which sites you like to see in more depth. Our guide, Lily, was just wonderful. Warm, friendly, and very knowledgeable, it was a pleasure to spend the day with her. She met us at our hotel and left us at the Louvre. She took perfect pictures of us at the Eiffel Tower and in front of the Arc de Triomphe. We had a lovely lunch, included in the price of the tour, at a classic French bistro. A beautiful day with the perfect guide, I highly recommend this tour.

Paris Foot Walks guided my teenage students through the city and major museums. They kept my students engaged and made our trip educational, informative, memorable, and lots of fun! The balance of rest, activity, enjoyment, and learning was perfect for our needs, and we made the most of our time thanks to the expertise of our guides. We loved the way they introduced us to everyday life in Paris along the way. These folks will not disappoint you.

Seeing Paris on foot is the way to do it! We met Stephen at the Arc de Triomphe, where he knew the perfect spot for a picture, and of course the history of the arc and the details adorning it. We visited the Eiffel Tower, Plaza de Concorde, the Army Museum, a street market, a cafe for lunch, a bakery for choux pastries (he didn't lie about how good they are), as well as other smaller sites along the way. Stephen is funny (just a bonus) and clearly loves sharing his love of Paris with others. His knowledge of Parisian/French history combined with his insights into modern day life make for informative and interesting conversation. If you have the opportunity to do a Paris Foot Walks, jump at it!

My friend and I decided to take a day trip to Paris. We were all set with maps and Google translator when we had a moment of clarity and decided a guided tour might be the better way to see the sights. We’re so glad Stephen was available. We met up at Norte Dame and quickly traversed through the city to view multiple sites. Not only was it a relief that Stephen speaks French, it was great that he guided us towards great spots to grab lunch and tasty treats along the way. We maneuvered through the subway, and covered the city like a local. Stephens historical knowledge is a gift. We felt like our tour was the perfect balance of sites, history, food and culture. Looking back, there’s no way we would have had a similar experience on our own. I highly recommend Stephen for your tour of Paris.
Pro tip: Ask Stephen to direct you to the best Choux. You won’t regret it.

Stephen was actually our guide for three full days in Paris with a high school student group. He was informative and knowledgeable about all things Parisian, both past and present, giving excellent tours plus great information about authentic restaurants and traveling. He established a great rapport with the students as well as the teachers. We will definitely use him again on future trips!

Touring Paris with Stephen, from Paris Foot Walks, gave me the opportunity to see the city through the eyes of a local. I had last been in Paris 20 years ago and needed someone who could help me navigate the city in the limited time that I had. Stephen was able to customize the tour to visit the sites that I wanted to see and recommend others that matched my interests. When I told him that I wanted to eat authentic French food he took me to the perfect Parisian Café. He helped me navigate the menu and I had the most delectable meal while we talked about what it is like to live in Paris. I feel that the personal attention that I received from Paris Foot Walks enabled me to see a side of Paris that only a few get to see. My experience was intimate and unique. Thank you, Stephen.

We were traveling with friends to Paris (their first trip, our sixth) and our friends arranged a walking tour of Paris. We knew we'd enjoy walking around such a beautiful city and seeing the highlights we were already familiar with. We did not know how very much we would learn from such a terrific guide as Stephen. Facts we didn't know and interesting details came alive all through the day. We had a wonderful time! Stephen introduced us more intimately to city we thought we knew well.
When we return to Paris next, I've no doubt we'll request another tour. The question will be whether we choose the churches and parks or try to book a tour in an area of personal interest. I've no doubt Stephen could design something marvelous!
