Overlooked gem for photography enthusiasts
Mar 2020
The MEP is within walking distance of all other main attractions in Paris (Louvre, Centre George Pompidou etc.). However, it seems to be off radar for many tourists. It may also have to do with the unsual touch of modesty to call this a "maison" rather than a "musée".
In any case, it's a must-see for photgraphy enthusiasts and more than a plan B for for a rainy day. There are usually concurrent exhibits (as of today: Erwin Wurm and Gangao Lang), and one is worth alioen the visit. Apart from a "normal" tour, one can participate in guided tours, of which there are numerous flavours (adults, students etc.) and even interactive formats.
Highly recommended for anyone interested in contemporaray photographs.

If you're hungry afterwards, visit the "Cidrerie de la Marais" less than 100 steps away.

Well Presented Gallery With Excellent Exhibitions
Feb 2020
We are big supporters of photography as an art form and regularly visit galleries. The Maison Europeenne was only a short walk from our hotel and we were particularly keen to see the presentation relating to Ursula Schulz-Dornburg. We were not disappointed, a superb display of her images and we especially enjoyed the series relating to her visits to Armenia and Palmyra. The other exhibits in the remaining galleries were also well chosen and all the information is clearly marked, and at a level easy to read and in both French and English. We will certainly return. If you are in the Marais and enjoy photography, check out any current exhibitions.

The amazon exhibition was great. The museum is free entry for European citizens between 18-25 as are most museums in Paris.

It’s a nice space and large enough that people get spaced out a bit. Given that it is EUR 10, I suggest that you first research the exhibits to make sure they are of interest.

Watch for Special Expos
Apr 2019
This is one of the world's best spaces for photographic expositions, so watch the listings on-line for something that interests you, and when that happens go. The quality is always excellent. Fascinating part of the Marais.

Nice but overpriced
Jun 2019 • Family
A really nice and interesting place, but too small and not enough exihibition for the price.
Currently Henry Wessel and Film Noir from their own collection is shown which was very interesting. My children were a bit disappointed due to how little work was on display.

Very expensive..10 Euros and I was out in less than half an hour..only worth about 3 Euros. There is some nice photographs but not worth that much money.

Watch the listings for the expos that they have here and if something interests you, go! It's a very good space with lots of well-lit walls. Famous for honoring the best in world photography. Easy to get to on the Metro.

Not for us this time
Dec 2018 • Couples
Visited during December and it always seemed busy so we queued one day.

Simply put, this wasn't to our taste however like most exhibitions there's always one or two items you find interesting but overall not quite enough.

Lots of space though so the images did have enough space to be viewed by a few visitors at once.

Choose you exhibtions carefully and it may be much better.
