When in Paris...or anywhere in Europe...it is always a good idea to purchase tickets to classical music concerts held in churches and chapels. The acoustics in a church and chapel are wonderful, enabling the sound of Schubert and Mozart to echo from the air into...More

This very small, simple and old church was a delightful setting for a late Sunday afternoon piano concert. The concert was about 75 minutes with beautiful music and acoustics and a well-behaved audience (no coughing, talking or even clapping between movements!). It's a bare-boned church...More

When Bach's Goldberg Variations were announced, I just had to go and I was immediately blown away by the acoustic perfection of the structure. The timbre and tonality of Bach shrouded me with impressive presence and the music just soared until it was only me...More

We attended a Chopin by candlelight concert in this charming little chapel. The pianist and the venue were simply wonderful. The concert was full, mostly locals and a few tourists. One of the most memorable evenings in this beautiful city.

Since I was in the area today, I thought I’d visit the Eglise Saint Ephrem Church. Unfortunately you couldn’t visit the church because the gates were closed and padlocked shut with chains surrounding them. From the outside, it appears fairly plain and unfortunately can’t provide...More

When Vivaldi's 4 seasons was sold out at Ste Chapelle, we were directed here. What a treat! The piano recital we saw in this amazing church -built 1334- was the highlight of our month in Europe. My 10 year old looked at me in amazement...More
