A bit of a surprise, just off the busy boulevard, a quiet neighborhood as you set up the hill in Montmartre. Delightful place to live, nice spot to visit, peaceful.

We didn't know what to expect and, until the end of this narrow path it wasn't clear what this attraction is about. And, then, an inscription about Boris Vian, one of our favorite French writers. It seems that the apartment where Vian lived can be visited on appointment.
If you don't care about Boris Vian and you are not particularly interested in walking on a dead-end street it's probably better to skip it.

The Cite Veron is a quiet leafy lane all the more surprising as it is right next to the Moulin Rouge and a very busy street.
There is a theatre here too.

Interesting and charming neighborhood just off the outer boulevards, a peaceful place away from the craziness of Pigalle. Lovely architecture. Old Paris.

Just down hill from the Basilica on Montmarte and above Pigalle lies this little neighborhood, a cute village in the midst of the city. Paris has many of them, and this is one of the most charming.

We three girls found this tiny well equipped flat when we were in despair of finding anything well located and affordable for a week in Paris. It is true to the photos on the hotel booking websites. Located in Montmartre it has such an air about it. Close to Blanche metro, down a cobbled lane, behind a little garden and up a lot of stairs. Not for the short of breath or heavily luggaged. An amazing view of the moulin rouge at night from the living room. Below is the Theatre Ouvert from which we could hear a piano quite frequently and make out the dainty forms of ballerinas at the barre. In lively surrounds with numerous choices of restaurants.. Yes, we were in Paris.
