What an amazing place. This ancient palace has so many floors, rooms, etc. all filled with artworks and artifacts. Got there early on a Monday and had very little wait. Lines were longer by the time we left. This place could be visited many times without repeating what you see.

my advice would be to get there SUPER early on a day when traffic should be slow if you want a picture of just yourself and the Mona Lisa. But if you can't, I fully recommend getting lost in this historic museum before you even go looking for it. Gave at the Venus Del Mayo, take pictures of the famous statue of Nike, hang out in Napoleons quarters, then find the Mona Lisa, you won't regret it.

Olivier is a terrific guide; we continue to visit Paris with him on each visit here. On this particular day, we had a fun tour of the Eiffel tower and the catacombs along with a fantastic (and reasonably priced) lunch in a restaurant that he suggested. Olivier's depth in the history of the city, stories that bring that history to life and energetic personality combine to make him the best guide around. I would highly recommend him!

We had s semi private small group tour of The louvre. So many special pieces of art here. It was to learn the history behind all these pieces. We skipped the line and learned a lot over 3 hours. Be prepared to spend some time here. We only saw about 40% of the museum but hit all the highlights. Make sure to see underneath that shows the original museum compared to the now existing building. If you do not have a guide you will not learn much. Small group guide is the best way to go. Please VOTE Helpful below!

One of the most iconic places in the world but have your wits about you... Romanian gypsies pose as mutes and try to get you to sign a petition. Once you do they crowd and then menace you until as they demand donations. Be aware, be forceful with them and walk away. They also work the Musee d’Orsay and Notre Dame.
