Private museum but a hidden gem for anyone interested in African art and culture. Incredible sculptures and masks with some dating back nearly 1000 years. Beautifully curated with nice lighting and interpretation and a lovely gift shop also. Definitely worth seeking out.

This small museum organized a beautiful exhibition from their own collection which spanned "African" art from various cultures on the Continent. It is worth a visit.

Although we have been to Paris a number of times, we had never heard of Musée Dapper and even our Parisian friends didn’t seem to know it. We almost had the place and the friendly museum staff to ourselves. A pity really because this little...More

This Museum appears to display only a fraction of its collection at a time due to a relatively small space. The quality of the art works is high, labeling is not always all that helpful particularly as far as the age of the artifacts. Would certainly...More

Not even Parisians know of this museum, and yet it is just a stone's throw from the Arc de Triomphe in the chic 16th arrondissement. The museum has long-term exhibitions mostly centred on African and Pacific Island art. The exhibits are always fascinating, incredibly well...More

A small museum, but immense in the pleasure of your eyes and emotions. Not overly crowded and sometimes it as if the masks and different artifacts come to life. A wonderful experience and museum.

Musee Dapper specialises in African art. The museum itself has a modest facade - but do not be mislead - behidn you will find great interior, and while the exhibiitn space is not Louvre-sized, it is exteremlyu tasteful and well designed. the current exhibition is...More

There are more than 150 museums in Paris and its surrounding region, the majority of which most tourists never see.** The Dapper Museum unrightfully falls into that category. The Dapper is a small museum devoted to the art of Africa, the Caribbean, and their diaspora....More

This small gem of a museum holds a really diverse collection of West African and Caribbean artifacts. A completely different selection than on display at the Branly, and it doesn't take all day to wander through. If you are a lover of African art, this...More
