This was the first attraction I went to upon arriving in Paris. It was difficult to find the entrance and wondered around the block at least twice before realizing the entrance is tucked away in the middle of the block. I made the mistake of buying the ticket to jump ahead of the line. There was no line. This attraction... More

A nice view of paris from the top of the tower. It is 15 euros each to go up. There is a nice cafe that serves reasonably priced food and drink. There is a little champagne bar at the very top, it was a nice touch. There is not much to do other than look at the view. A nice... More

Make sure you schedule this during your stay in Paris. Arrive with enough time to clear security and catch the eiffel tower glittering on the hour. We missed the ten o'clock but got to watch the sunlight fade, enjoy a glass of champagne and enjoy the eleven o'clock show. Seeing Paris at night is a treat, don't miss this magical... More

The standard entrance is 15 euro, which is quite expensive to just go up an elevator and have a look around, especially given that everything else you might want is additional fees, like the guide thing for 5 euro, to watch through the binocular things for 1-2 euro, and so on. If going with a full family this activity could... More

The observatory was super easy to get into (no line) was a full 360 degree view if you go to the top outside deck which is only accessible by one flight of stairs. food and drink inside was obviously extremely expensive.

Everyone or almost everyone has tried to climb or make their way up the Eiffel Tower to get a view of Paris, but did you ever noticed this drab tower opposite? This is the Tour Montparnasse, and although it takes some walking 400m from the nearest Metro, the view from here is also hard to beat, and better yet, less... More

Easy to get to by Metro. Not expensive, not horrendously busy - wonderful views of Paris. Pleasant wee cafe at viewpoint level, all staff were helpful and polite. In a nice area with plenty restaurants and shops nearby. We spent an enjoyable afternoon here.

Although this is an ordinary tall skyscraper in the moderen section of Paris, it provided me with an amazing birdseye view of Paris on a beautiful spring evening. Theere is a lot of interesting things to see and do at the top level both inside and out. Having a glass of champagne as this gorgeous city presented itself in its... More

From the Terrace, better views of city centre attractions such as Notre-Dame as well as Sacre Cours than from the Eiffel and great views to the Eiffel Tower itself. Terrace and panorama areas uncrowded and pleasant unlike the zoo at the Eiffel. Photos on entry expensive and a bit tacky! Staff friendly and helpful. Lovely, expensive glass of Champers on... More

Neighborhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
