If you want a high-level view of Paris this is a much better option than the more expensive, crowded and time-consuming Eiffel Tower. It also gives a superb view of the latter structure, especially as darkness falls and the Eiffel Tower sparkles with thousands of spangly lights for a few minutes on the hour every hour.
We ascended on a bitterly cold winter evening as dusk fell.
The surroundings of the tower are a rather shabby ‘concrete jungle’ and it took a little time to find the entrance (even though I’ve been there before) but once in there was no queue and we were whisked up in the lift in almost no time.
Entrance payment is now made once reaching the top (it used to be at the base) and the views are stunning, with the gift shop, cafe and numerous information panels a bonus. But the main reason for visiting is the views. Once you have found the steps to climb to the higher-level open top of the tower (passing painted murals, not ‘graffiti’ as a previous reviewer described them) it’s great to be high up in the open air.
It was interesting to see plans for a complete refurbishment of the tower and its surroundings, which will make future visits even more enjoyable.
Thoroughly recommended!

If you wish to see Eiffel tower from a top view, then this is the best place. During nights, the view of Eiffel tower and the city view is simply stunning. Even the hourly sparkling from the tower is best viewed from here.

Every Paris visitor should see the City of lights from these 3 elevated points: the Eiffel tower, the Monmartre hill and this one - the Montparnasse observation deck.
All 3 are strategically spread in different locations, in different parts of the city so you get another perspective of French capital from each of them.
We climbed the Montparnasse tower at night, as the other two we went during daytime and it was a splendid experience on a clear winter night.

The panoramic deck is closed, the building is filthy (broken windows, dirty, staff shabby). We booked ahead and they charge 26 euros per ticket for a “champagne experience” which is a small glass served very slowly from the cafeteria counter! It’s truly disappointing, so avoid if for a special occasion.

Only booked this due to the horrendous queues & expense at Eiffel Tower. So glad we did.
No view of Paris would be complete without the Eiffel Tower in it and that is difficult when you are stood atop it!

The view from Montparnasse Tower is unrivalled and we got the day and night ticket which means you can go twice in 48 hours to see the city in dark and light. If you were only able to visit once I would recommend going to see the sun set, and staying until the Eiffel Tower does its sparkly dance!

I would have given 4.5/5 if that was an option as the toilets were small & smelly and there was only a baby change in the ladies meaning I had to change my little one in the gents on my knee.

That aside, an excellent experience which my kids 12, 9, and 3, all loved.

After four visits to Paris we decided to do the view from the tower. I highly recommend it! We went at 7 in the summer so it was still daylight, enjoyed the daylight views and picking out the sights around the city. Then hung out until the dusk and the lights started to turn on. It was magical. It was busy the night we went and sadly people hung out at the good viewing spots and didn’t really move. It was quite windy up on top, FYI. We still got some fun photos and enjoyed the experience.

If you want a panorama picture with the Eiffel tower, you should go to this observation deck. The price was very good (18e/ person) if you compare it to any other observation deck. There were absolutely no lines so I didn't have to wait at all and I enjoyed the view very much! There's also a chance for a glass of champaign or a little snack too.

Come here when the sun is setting so you have different shots of the Eiffel Tower (daylight, twilight, & late night).

You can also see Paris from a bird's point-of-view.

Parisians may hate this tower, but if you're a tourist, check it out for yourself to see the whole of Paris.

Other than that, you're good to go!

Beautiful views of Paris. We went up at night and it was amazing to see the city lit up. Would be good if they kept the cafe open all evening. Wheelchair accessible only to the top floor and not to outside viewing platform.

If you want to have an awesome 360° panoramic view of Paris, this is the place to be! It’s expensive but with every centime. A super fast lift takes you to the 52nd enclosed floor with a snack bar and what appeared to be a very expensive restaurant. But the jewel in the crown is two floors above where you have a huge open air viewing platform.

I timed my visit wrong, I should have gone just before dusk rather than late afternoon, but next time…..
