About Paris by Mouth
There’s a reason why our tours are top-rated food tours on TripAdvisor and have been celebrated by The New York Times (twice!) and knowledgable foodies like David Lebovitz and Ruth Reichl: we keep our group sizes tiny, we spend generously at the best shops in town, and we only work with expert guides who have devoted their lives to food & wine. Our tours are in English and last for around 3 hours. They include some walking and standing, but also feature a seated tasting with wine pairings. Our tours are designed for adults. We’re unable to host children under ten years of age. Our price of 110€ per person is a little higher than the competition because we spend more than anyone else on premium tastings and to pay the most experienced and knowledgable guides in Paris. You’re also paying for the tiny group size.

Belated review A friend and I went in February and the tour was led by Aurélien. Throughout the tour he answered all our question, and could tell how passionate he was about food. Each stop was delicious and pointed out things i didnt know or would even bother to look up, so i truly enjoyed the informational aspect. Also the stops they picked, I wouldn't have known to stop at or even find, so we both loved that . Since the tours are small, we never felt rushed and it made the time more enjoyable. Honestly I was hesitant about the price tag, but after seeing how much time they put into each guest, the new shops they introduced to us, and coming out full, I definitely recommend it to others. Thank you Aurélien for making our Paris trip better (and for also staying abit after to answer our questions and give recommendations).

Unfortunately, my girlfriend and I could not attend our tour due to having to return to Australia because of coronavirus. Our dealings with Paris by Mouth after this could not have been better and indicated the care that they have for their customers and staff. Their website states that they only provide 75% refunds, but due to the current situation, they would be giving full refunds, something that we appreciated. However, what touched my girlfriend and I more was their commitment to match any tips/donations from customers to their tour guides. Given the uncertainty of the current times, it was powerful to see a business helping their staff get by, and made us committed to book again once things settle down.

My girlfriend and I took the Taste of Marais tour with Andres Medrano in early March. We've been on several food tours in different places, and this one was definitely top notch. Most importantly, Andres is amazing. He's very friendly and super knowledgeable about both the food and the neighborhood. It was clear that building community among the tour participants was a priority, and it made the whole experience more enjoyable for all of us. He took the time to speak individually with each member of the group and get to know everyone a little. At the final stop of the tour, we shared wine and the food we'd collected along the way and had a really nice time with all our new friends. As for the actual tour, we started with baguettes and croissants from a world-class bakery, then visited one of the oldest chocolate makers in the city, and finally made stops at meat and cheese shops. At the meat and cheese shops, Andres struck a good balance between asking the group about their preferences and selecting items popular among the French. Andres picked choice items up along the way, and we finished the tour at a wine shop. At the wine shop Andres selected some wines to go with our meats and cheeses, and we spent more than an hour drinking and eating. Andres spent some time explaining how to pair wine with food and some of the basics of enjoying wine to its fullest. It was a really good time. One suggestion is that if you are going to take this tour, do so at the beginning of your trip rather than the end (like we did). This will give you time to go back into the shops you visited and just be more knowledgable generally about bread, wine, meat, and cheese during your visit. Bottom line, the guide was great, the food was amazing, and the experience was well worth the price.

Veronica was our guide in the Left Bank in February and she did an amazing job. She took us several places including an excellent cheese shop, bakery, artisanal chocolatier, and a wine store where we concluded the tour with great wine and cheese. The food we tasted from cheese to pastry to bread and chocolate was a delight and everyone enjoyed it. Veronica knows a great deal about food especially cheese and she provided lots of information about the food we ate.. Veronica was also very skilled and high energy at ensuring everyone in the group was engaged. We had a wide age range in our group and she found ways to connect with everyone., She also is quite knowledgable about history and brought interesting historical facts and insights into the tour. The tour could not have been done better and I definitely recommend it to all and will do another one on next trip to Paris! .
