This is a very long "pathway", a straight road that extends for several kilometres. It was originally conceived as a sort of path to and from the gardens of the royal Palace of the Tuileries. Along the way there are several monuments, arches and the like, like the Arc de Triomphe. The beautiful Champs Elysees is central to this long road. Worth a look.

This architectural wonder you cannot experience in any other city - it's a result of centuries city planning. A straight line spreading almost 10 km connects 3 major Triumph Arches, with an almost equal distance between them - starting from the Louvre Arch, over the most famous Arc de Triomphe up to the new modern Defense Arch. Best views of all of them are from the top of the middle Triumph Arch on Etiole sq, where on a clear day you see the entire Triumphal way.

The Triumphal Way is the thoroughfare that prolongs the Champs-Elysées, Paris' most famous avenue. Starting at the Arc de Triomphe and heading West, one goes down the Avenue de la Grande Armée down to Porte Maillot. From there, one exits Paris for the swank suburb of Neuilly, all the way down to the Seine. Then across it to the business district of La Défense, and the Grande Arche, sort of mirroring the Arc de Triomphe, then further down the other side, all the way through grdually more distant suburbs, all the way to Cergy-Pontoise, some 15mi. away as the crow flies. The Voie Triomphale has the magnitude of a roman way, but it spans vastly different architectures, and uses. That prevents it from being a single item in any way but the name. Still many sections are fine and interesting, well worth visiting, from its end in Cergy, or the hinterlad of la Défense, much less well known than the other side, a brand new section of town.

This walk has some historical significance. Leading to the Arc, right by Champs Elysees. Good for eating and shopping
