Paris is packed with beautiful Roman Catholic church’s. Most including this one are open during the day for sight seeing. The alter area on this church was unique. The church is right next to the Pantheon.

We came to visit our friend who lives on this hill, then went for a drink, and then wandered around looking for dinner. Lots of monuments and schools here as it is the heart of the university quarter. Lively, full of young people.

This is the hill, the up slope, on the Left Bank, rising from the Seine. It is not a steep hill and it is not a big climb, but it is a slope. You will find some important religious and university buildings, plus some private schools. Lots of cafes where students sit and drink coffee.

I recently stayed for 11 nights in a hotel near the bottom of this hill, which overlooks the Left Bank of the Seine. I enjoyed this area of the Latin Quarter immensely. It brims with students, because of the institutions of higher learning nearby; bars; restaurants; cafes; shops; and quaint, winding, narrow streets. The bars were especially lively with customers spilling into the street due to the final World Cup matches.
Though I would not consider this to be a big hill, it has enough of a slope for its prime attraction — the magnificent Pantheon — at the top to stand out when at viewpoints in some other areas of the city. I also am a fan of Église Sainte-Etienne-du-Mont at the top of the fairly short rue de la Montagne Saint Geneviève, which wends its way upward from Boulevard Saint Germain. This beautiful church, inside and outside, contains the shrine of Saint Geneviève. Its northwest steps play a role in Woody Allen’s 2011 film, “Midnight in Paris.”

Churches, bars and the Pantheon: there’s plenty to see in this Latin part of Paris. More holy relics to be seen within the church.

Discovered this by accident when visiting the Pantheon. Beautiful area of Paris, only a short walk from the Ile de la Cite. Lots of interesting restaurants, quaint winding streets. The church is beautiful, light, with great unusual stained glass windows.

This is the middle of the University area of the 5th and thus has a lot of major religious and academic sites. Plus a lot of good place to eat and drink. And movie theaters. Take a walking tour.

This area surrounds the Pantheon and is worth coming to visit to see some of the sites and maybe check out something to eat around there. There are plenty of places to eat and drink and it was quite busy when we came.

This is the upslope in the 5th in Paris, uphill through the Latin Quarter. Lots of academic institutions here, lots of old Paris in architecture. And lots of cool cafes and restaurants. Fun place.

Hi! Do you recall the names of a few good restaurants in this area?
Thank you!

Vous avez mis la Montagne Sainte Geneviève dans le quartier République sur la rive droite qui est très loin de ce lieu, lequel correspond au Quartier Latin rive gauche .
