This area surrounds the Pantheon and is worth coming to visit to see some of the sites and maybe check out something to eat around there. There are plenty of places to eat and drink and it was quite busy when we came.

This is the upslope in the 5th in Paris, uphill through the Latin Quarter. Lots of academic institutions here, lots of old Paris in architecture. And lots of cool cafes and restaurants. Fun place.

I recently stayed for 11 nights in a hotel near the bottom of this hill, which overlooks the Left Bank of the Seine. I enjoyed this area of the Latin Quarter immensely. It brims with students, because of the institutions of higher learning nearby; bars;...More

We headed directly to the Pantheon but then found out it was closed. We walked around looking for something to eat and get out of the sun. We did that as this street has many dining choices all with the backdrop of the Pantheon and...More

The Rue de la Montagne Saint Genevieve is a greet in Paris adjacent to the church and near to the Pantheon. Would I consider it a tourist attraction? No. There’s nothing special in this street, architecture or cafes or otherwise, it’s just another street to...More

This is the heart of the university and academic quarter of Paris, so full of book stores and cafes that students frequent. Also full of historic sites to explore. Lively area.

This slope leads one up from the Seine into the lovely 5th Arrondisement, and into the middle of the university area, full of academic buildings. Lots of inexpensive restaurants, some quite good. Historic old Paris, perfect for wandering.

Discovered this by accident when visiting the Pantheon. Beautiful area of Paris, only a short walk from the Ile de la Cite. Lots of interesting restaurants, quaint winding streets. The church is beautiful, light, with great unusual stained glass windows.

Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life,
architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The
small streets are filled with classical buildings,
student bars and lively eateries while the squares are
dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined
by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin
once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which
celebrates the great men and women of France. During
