Visited to see Editors.

Great venue only minutes walk from the top end of the Champs-Élysées

Standing tickets very well priced and very well behaved audience (probably due to a no drinking rules)

Really nice venue acoustics good room for improvement and also a bit on the quiet side

Drinks inside expensive E18 for a pint of warm Bud and a small wine !

Visited to catch Whispering Sons and Editors. Nice building with art deco touches and a great old fashioned wooden lift. Comfortable seats and good view even from 2nd balcony. The usherette was lovely and guided me to my seat. Sound quality was good if perhaps clipped (probably better for orchestral rather than indie rock) but clear nonetheless. Might have been louder though - if only to drown out annoying people behind me talking through the gig. They should have stayed at home if they wanted to chat. C'est la vie!

Salle Pleyel is a wonderful venue in the heart of monumental Paris. I wouldn’t want to stay in the 8th Arrondissement, but it is an excellent location for a concert hall. I witnessed the music of the iconic and venerable Herbie Hancock, who even at an age when most of us are lucky to get out of a chair, is hopping around the stage like the soulster he is. It was great to hear and see. The Salle Pleyel is beautiful, comfortable, with great acoustics, and easy bathrooms. That is all I need. Perfect!

I had the first balcony on the first floor place 222, I had a beautiful view of the scene, really very good, with just a rank of people in front of me. But you have an iron bar on the first balcony, so the first rank is not recommended if you're not tall, the second/third rank is way better. The light was very good. I've seen the Cuba ballet, wonderful, especially the star dancer Osiel Gouneo. You hear very well, however the music was prerecorded and sometimes stopped in the middle of the dancing. It was the opening, I hope this little quacks will be fixed for the other evenings of the show. It's forbidden to enter with food, I had to eat my sandwich outside before entering, the security guards check bags.

This hall is unique. The whole etablissement is unique in its conception! Named after the famous piano-maker and composer Ignaz Pleyel, with the store in front of the hall and the lovely bar at Royal Monceau - it was so nice to walk a short distance after a nice drink and the concert hall! Now, the piano maker Pleyel stopped producing pianos and the activities have been transferred to La Philharmonie... I love the stage of the hall Pleyel and I loved going there... such an intimate space, where I felt so close to the definition of artistic interpretation... I miss this place!
