BPT Review We went on a tour with Black Paris Tours for $150 USD per person. It was the most we had paid for a day tour in Paris. But our guide Nawo was so knowledgeable, interesting and warm, every penny was worth it. It’s been awhile since I was able to learn and retain so much information. She is very connected to the people around her and the city of Paris. It was lovely to spend the day with her. My sister and her fiancé will be in Paris in February and they too are planning on taking this tour with Nawo. It was a wonderful day we will always remember.

My family and I were looking forward to our Paris trip scheduled April 2020. Unfortunately due to Covid 19 our trip was cancelled. I called Ricki Stevenson in MARCH (6 weeks before the trip) to let her know we would not be able to attend, in which she was fully aware and understanding as she herself was in Oakland, Ca and unable to return to Paris due to the travel ban. I informed her I would be requesting a refund because I was not sure when I would be able to reschedule the trip. In April I received an email from Ms. Stevenson asking how we would like to proceed either postpone or refund. Again I informed her in writing I would like to receive a refund. Since she has gone radio silence. I have called and left messages in addition to multiple emails. She still hasn’t responded. I have been extremely patient but at this point we are all dealing with the inconvenience of the pandemic. I have no other recourse but to warn people about this business and how they treat their customers in a time of need.

I just want to compliment you on your guide, Miguel. He was very patient with me, even though I had to keep stopping to rest (back and knee pain). I sang his praises and posted lots of pictures of my day on Facebook. I kept asking him questions and he had the answers. I was impressed with his knowledge about Black history, not only about Black history in Paris, but how it interacted with the history of African Americans, Jamaicans, Haitians, and even German colonization of South Africa. We had such a wonderful time. I wish I could have recorded everything. If you love history and/or literature, this tour is for you! Bravo!

I was so pleased to have had the experience of this tour! I did the two-thirds day tour, and I left feeling as if I had absorbed an encyclopedia of knowledge. Miguel was our guide, and he was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. All of the information provided in advance was extremely helpful to prepare for the tour. I also appreciated that the tour started with an orientation of France and blacks in France, which was useful as the tour proceeded through the day. There was light rain at some times during the tour, and even turned cold at one point, but the tour was so engaging that the rain didn’t bother us! The tour is definitely worth it.

I highly highly highly recommend this tour!!! Miguel was our tour guide and did an amazing job! We did the full day tour and had no regrets. It was perfect. I never know France was so rich in black culture. It definitely made me fall in love with France and will definitely come back. I would do the tour all over again if I could.

Dear Black Paris Tour Alumni~ Thank you, Merci.Asanta Sana! We are sooooo happy your enjoyed your day spent with our senior scholar-guide Miguel, exploring the rich legacy of Black history in Paris. Paris is not perfect....as evidenced by the recent pension reform strikes and protests....but there are so many stories of how Black Americans came here and triumphed over the racism that held them back in the US Please come backto join us again. There is always something new to see and experience with Black Paris Tours!
