This is unlike any tour I've taken. Instead of a typical tour which is just surface info and picture taking, this was an amazing history lesson. It has reawakened my interest in learning so much more about what people of African descent (not just African Americans) have done in and for the city of Paris. I recommend doing the full... More

Sept 26, 2016 AHHH-MAZINGGG would be such an understatement. This tour was so fulfilling for me. I came here on a solo trip and was beginning to feel a disconnect because of the culture difference and language barrier. After the tour, I fell in love with Paris because I had learned sooo much about black history. Had NO idea we... More

Wow! Who knew black people have such a rich history in Paris. Ricki Stevenson is an impressive guide and extremely knowledgeable. I had a great experience. I highly recommend this to those who love history and aren't looking for your "typical tour" it's very comfortable and Ricki is like talking to a family member. She will have you brush up... More

What an awesome tour! Ricki Stevenson's knowledge of our history as a race in Paris is invaluable. To understand our involvement in the development of this beautiful city - the names of powerful, intelligent and gifted people (and some of their life experiences that I knew nothing about) was overwhelming. Black Paris Tours was nothing short of an "awakening", that... More

The walking tour gave such a wealth of knowledge that will never be taught in the classroom. To actually walk and see, and hear the stories of the importance of impact Americans played in Paris, gives one chills and thrills. Oh, and the food after the days end is a delight to the appetite. The day tour leaves you wanting... More

Ricki Stevenson and her team opened my eyes to a new perspective on the City of Lights. Our tour guide, Nawro, was great. After an overview over a nice breakfast, we embarked on peeling back the layers of Paris from a black perspective. We walked, too Metro and bus to see the places where Parisians such as Alexander Dumas, Josephine... More

August 26th I was determined to take the Black Paris tour, I had heard so much about it from friends. We had an intimate tour with Ricki since there were only 3 of us, she has such a passion for Paris Black history, and her story telling brought it to life. We really enjoyed the entire experience; this was definitely... More

I expected much more from the tour than seeing where Josephine Baker performed and a statue of Alexandre Dumas in a park. The guide provided a list of over 100 notable African Americans who spent time in Paris. We didn't see where these people spent their time. Unfortunately, I don't feel I got my money's worth for the tour considering... More

Dear SFCA1Native, Thank you for your review. I'm sorry you felt you got no more out of your two-thirds day tour than seeing where Josephine Baker performed and a statue of Dumas. During our BPT orientation ("Our story does not begin with slavery") we take time to reveal little known facts about Blacks in Paris, the US and the World.... More

I really enjoyed my day out with Black Paris Tours! To book online was super easy and I received a lightning fast confirmation. All of the necessary information was laid out for me in advance of my meeting with the group. Tour guide Nawo Crawford is a gem! Her knowledge of everything Black in Paris was inspiring. I learned so... More
