I expected much more from the tour than seeing where Josephine Baker performed and a statue of Alexandre Dumas in a park. The guide provided a list of over 100 notable African Americans who spent time in Paris. We didn't see where these people spent their time. Unfortunately, I don't feel I got my money's worth for the tour considering... More

Dear SFCA1Native, Thank you for your review. I'm sorry you felt you got no more out of your two-thirds day tour than seeing where Josephine Baker performed and a statue of Dumas. During our BPT orientation ("Our story does not begin with slavery") we take time to reveal little known facts about Blacks in Paris, the US and the World.... More

I really enjoyed my day out with Black Paris Tours! To book online was super easy and I received a lightning fast confirmation. All of the necessary information was laid out for me in advance of my meeting with the group. Tour guide Nawo Crawford is a gem! Her knowledge of everything Black in Paris was inspiring. I learned so much. Ricki, was so knowledgeable, energetic and a wonderful hostess. The Bastille Day Fireworks cruise was exceptional. I shared my photos and experiences with members of the Black Nurses Conference here in town this week and they were so impressed. One of my friends now wants to go to Paris and take the Extended Tour. I gave... More

Ms. Nawo Crawford opened our eyes to so much of Black Paris in the day we spent with her. She is outstanding in her knowledge of Black Paris and Paris in general. She was friendly and energetic (my she can walk, LOL). We could tell that she enjoyed telling of the history as much as we enjoy hearing it. We... More

I have taken Ricki's excellent walking tour, but this was my first time taking the annual Bastille Day Champagne and Fireworks Cruise. What a fabulous package. The cruise starts with an orientation and meet and greet at a nearby hotel. Next, there is a lovely light meal complete with champagne and dessert on the banks of the Seine. Afterwards, you... More

Dear Black Paris Tours Traveler~ So glad you were among the 60 folks who joined us for our major event of the year...our 2016 "Blue, White and Red", Champagne-Fireworks Cruise on the River Seine! Wasn't it fun to be kicked back on the boat, sipping champagne, snacking and watching a fabulous 45 minute (750,000 euro) fireworks show....while hundreds of thousands... More

Paris is a diverse city with a rich history. The tour provides a framework to understand the complex ways that Blacks' contributions have been celebrated or muted. Our guide helped us to better understand historical matters and current conditions. I suggest taking the tour early in your visit. It is worth the time!

What a day of fulfilled knowledge of Paris and the roles the American Negroes contributed to Paris and surrounding Villages. Things i learned was never shared in my classroom of history. Learning and shown the Sankofa markings on the iron gates around the city to the stories of Neapolitan race relations with Dumas, the rich classical music composer of African... More

This was my 4th visit to the beautiful city of Paris and my only regret is that I had not known about this fantastic tour on my first visit because all of my experiences would have been so much richer. The info shared was mind-boggling and the hidden treasures that were revealed allowed us to gain an even deeper understanding... More

This was an EXCELLENT personalized tour highlighting many forgotten facts about Paris' rich past. Ricki is so well informed, and shared her wisdom with us. Our small group tour was well organized and insightful into the rich history of Paris from an African and African-American perspective. We truly enjoyed every aspect, including mingling with the Parisians their shops and busses/metro... More

I definitely would recommend this tour. I chose the full day tour, and it was amazing. First, you get so much valuable information before your tour, such as how to get around the city, places to eat..etc. There is so much information that Ricki shares, it is absolutely wonderful. She is very knowledgeable about the city and history. You can... More
