Of course I wouldn't try to persuade a first-time visitor to skip the Louvre and come to this jewel, but that visitor wouldn't be disappointed. The special exhibit on the the Spirit of the Bauhaus was just lovely -- beautiful pieces very nicely displayed. The...More

We always come to Paris to see the exhibitions as they are so much better than London shows, and we try and see most things at this museum as it's exceptional. This show was the Bauhaus. Had such wonderful things in that show. Was really...More

The Musee des Arts Decoratifs is an outstanding specialized museum that deserves a visit. It wouldn´t seem to be a must when visiting Paris, considering that it´s located just beside the Louvre. In fact my first idea was going to the Louvre, but the long...More

A mind blowing collection of objects designed for living. The recommended route transitions from medieval to modern including rooms from Jeanne Lanvin's home and exquisite Art Deco and Art Nouveau furnishings etc. The curation of the permanent exhibits is fascinating and draws you on. We...More

The exhibition included a large amount of beautiful material on the Bauhaus, most of which I had already seen in books or otherwise. I would certainly recommend seeing the exhibition, but I was left a little frustrated by the lack of explanation on how the...More

Le Musée des arts décoratifs is affiliated with the Louvre, and essentially in the same building, but with a separate admission fee and a separate entrance (12, rue de Rivoli, at the very tip of the Louvre's west wing). Over about nine floors, it contains...More
