Hello, the website of the Institute planned until Friday, September 20, 2024, the opening for Heritage Days on Friday, September 20, 2024, Saturday and Sunday. I bought two train tickets, I'm blocking my afternoon and I'm going to the spot. At the reception, I am told that this is a mistake, perhaps corrected that morning. The tour will only be open on Saturdays. And now I'm invited back. How does this administration work, prestigious if any, or a few. Where is the sense of public service and quality? Perhaps there is no one to deal with these organizational problems or perhaps a problem of absenteeism? The mystery remains but I try to continue paying our taxes...Cordially, Frederique Mayet

Was built in 1805 as a huge government office which it remains today.Manages 6 National Academies which run 1000 foundations and museums and libraries.Finest looking office I've ever seen with imposing wings and a grand coupole in the middle. Your photos do it justice. It's next door to Hotel de Monnaies (the Mint), which is itself well worth a visit to see the collections. The Institu is on the edge of the Latin Quarter so worth a look en route.

Located in the 6th Arrondissement and more or less along the banks of the River Seine is one of the most beautiful buildings in Paris namely Institut De France.
Originally called College Des Quatre Nations ,now called Institut De France ,it defines itself as " protector of arts, literature and science " .
The building itself was constructed between 1662-1688 from designs from Cardinal Mararin ,it's a stunning building to view ,I passed it very late at night while my twin brother Stephen and I were heading to The Highlander Pub ,the views from Pont Des Arts were really impressive ,such a photogenic building ,it's a landmark structure I highly recommend you seek out if you're planning a holiday to Paris and easy to locate along Quai Conti 6e.

In our way to ile de la Cite, coincidentally found this impressive building attracting the eye with its dome and the pillars.

Passed by this large building with its gilded dome whilst on a bus tour of the city. Certainly impressionable with columns at its facade.

Crossing the pedestrian bridge of Pont des arts, we were confronted with a beautiful building built in the baroque style. On this particular day we were practising the french art of wandering (to be a Flaneur) - as we had nowhere we really had be, we noticed there was a free art exhibit, within the institute, it was a wonderful display, thats what we love about paris there is always something to see.

The Institute of France, is an academic institution, integrating the major national academies including the prestigious Académie des Sciences, with almost 700 academics and intellectuals from various fields of knowledge. This Institute manages the museums, castles and palaces existing in the country. It's a beautiful building and the view of the Seine for this building is breathtaking.

A very important institution in France, and it is right here at the end of the Pont des Arts. A beautiful and very grand building, and it looks even more grand at night.
