Beautiful architecture built in the early 19th Century, one of the world's first shopping malls. It got people off the dirty streets and out of the bad weather to enjoy shopping, eating, and drinking. The tea salon is not what it used to be, but...More

Beautiful XIXth century gallery called "passage couvert" close to La Bourse (former French stock exchange), with shops, restaurant, etc. Both the glass roof and the floor are magnificent!

Arguably the best galerie I've seen in Paris: a nice surrounding, a very nice library, a gorgeous wine shop and much more

This one of the most beautiful galleries in Paris. Look at the floor with mosaics and the glass ceilings. Beautiful shops.

A covered passage with unique shops. If you are in the 2nd take time to stroll through. Christmas time is especially pretty here with shops to find gifts for everyone.

I must have been here a hundred times and never tire of the splendid architecture and unique shops. Excellent example of Pari's success in moving folks off the dirty streets in the early 19th Century and into covered arcades for shopping and fun.

Galerie Vivienne (named after one of the streets that the gallery/'covered passage' has an entrance at) is filled with history. Galerie Vivienne was opened in the 1820s, as most of the other Parisian 'passages couverts' which took roots briefly after the Napoleonic fall, during the...More

Specifically made a detour here to show the family what I expected to be some beautiful architecture from days gone by. Sadly it looked like it has seen better days and there appears to be some restoration taking place. Maybe next time.
