Located between Alexander III Bridge (upstream) and Alma Bridge (downstream). Must be his name in the vicinity of the esplanade des Invalides. Built in 1829, it was demolished in 1854 and underwent settlement (30 cm) in 1878.

PROS
* Elaborate fancy sculptures and elaborate fancy lamp posts
* Famous and historic
* Connects the Grand and Petit Palais to the Invalides
CONS
* Busy traffic
"I VISITED THIS PLACE"...
... when. I crossed from the Grand and Petit Palais areas on my way to visit the museum of Les Invalides (see my review of that).
I spent time on the bridge, viewing and watching and enjoying and I liked crossing, being on and observing, studying, analyzing and watching
WAS IT WORTH THE COST
Yes- it is free
WOULD 'I VISIT THIS PLACE" AGAIN?
Yes, but not as a specific destination but as something that I'm passing anyway, between something and something else
ADVICE
* It's worth seeing- walking on it, sailing underneath and looking from the sides of the river
* It gives a good unobstructed view of the Eiffel Tower, especially at night on the hour when it is twinkling- best to stand towards the end of the bridge, on the side that is closest to the Petit Palais

Location/what is it about: The Pont des Invalides is the lowest bridge over the Seine River in Paris, France near HΓ΄tel des Invalides and the Eiffel Tower. Pont des Invalides may not be as gracefully finished as its neighbour the Pont Alexandre III, but the view of the Eiffel Tower is better. Good photo opportunities.
Admission fee (budget range): Free to visit.
It is difficult to designate this bridge as a must-visit as Paris has many beautiful bridges. A walk next to the Seine River and admiring the bridges (on or next to the water) is, in our opinion, a must-do in Paris in general.
We will revisit this place. We never tire of strolling along the Seine River.

This is one of the grander bridges over the Seine. It links the big park at Invalides on the Left Bank with the Champs Elysees area. Best seen from a boat on the river.

Nice bridge, near the magnificant and gorgeous Alexander III bridge which makes this one faint in comparison.

Hey- how many bridges can there be? This is a rather functional one. Reading other reviews, I found out why this isnβt in the place of Pont Alexander III. And yes, we passed underneath it as number of times while on the Batobus.

The Pont des Invalides is the lowest bridge, in Paris, crossing the Seine. It is named after an unsuccessful bridge opposite the HΓ΄tel des Invalides (on the site of the current Alexandre III bridge). This bridge took several attempts to get correct. Whilst the bridge was begun in 1821 it was not until 1880 that it was made stable and has existed in that form ever since.

One of the oldest bridges but interesting part is sailing through on a Bateau Mouche while you listen to Edith Piaf in the background. Highlight of my trip to Paris. Paris from the river view or from one of the bridges, is so unique and brings you back to a different period in time...it doesn't change

Memories (like the song by Barbara Streisand) ! Make memories on this bridge or revisit them. Write a poem here, take a picture here, always remember being here...

During our second visit to Paris, we undertook some extensive walks to various parts of the city. One such walk took us across the River Seine to visit the Army Museum and the Tomb of Napoleon.
On the return walk to the Right Bank we crossed the River Seine using the Ponte des Invalides, one of a number of impressive bridges which carry traffic and pedestrians across the river. This particular bridge, although not as ornate as some of the others, did still feature some significant statues on it and some elaborate sculptures in its supporting arches.
Whilst crossing the bridge we were able to take in a good view of the nearby and possibly most ornate bridge on the Seine, that being the Pont Alexandre III.
