What a treat to learn so much from Charlotte! Our morning started with meeting Charlotte at a metro stop near her morning market. While we strolled through the market, Charlotte gave us lots of information about how to pick the freshest produce, fish, poultry (and why do they sell it with the heads on??) and cheese. Once we got to... More

This cooking class is a cooking class and SO MUCH MORE!!! It was truly an absolute treat (pun intended). Charlotte met us at the metro and then we walked through the market to buy our ingredients for our dishes. This was invaluable because we actually saw the things that we were cooking with beforehand AND Charlotte used it as a... More

We started by stopping at a local cheese and tasting all the amazing cheese's. Charlotte was very knowledgable about Paris and cooking. We all got to help cook our dinner and learn about cooking. Great event for whole family.

This cooking class was the highlight of our trip to Paris with our three sons. The walk through the french market on Rue Cler was a unique experience. We picked out several different kinds of cheese to eat at dinner and then we headed back to the chef Charlotte's home to her private chef's kitchen. She made us feel at... More

What a fun, unique, memorable day! Richard is a great host and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the market and the walk to Charlotte's home. When we arrived, she was busy finishing a catering job for Fashion Week, which only made the atmosphere more exciting. It was fun to hear about her catering jobs for fashion houses; I'm sure... I enjoyed my Eye Prefer Paris Marais tour so much I immediately signed up for their cooking class. Richard was kind enough to fit me in a class that was going on the next day. I met Charlotte at the market along with four other people and toured the market. I had never seen such a market in the US,... More

We scheduled a Tuesday evening cooking class and met our chef, Charlotte, who took us to Rue Cler, a famed market street in Paris. There were 6 in the class, which made the shared experience very interesting and friendly. After shopping, we went to Charlotte's lovely townhouse and all helped with the cooking. We've been to other cooking classes in... More

Our evening started by visiting Rue Cler - a market street - and learning about various foods - cheese - fruits - vegetables and fish. We then went to Charlotte's home and started cooking the most delicious meal. We were given tasks and with her marvelous kitchen - it was a joy! Richard Neham was there taking pictures - helping... I recently took my two daughters to Paris and booked a cooking class with Charlotte. My younger daughter loves to cook and the other much prefers takeout! This class was perfect for all of us as we could participate as much or as little as we liked. We began the morning with a wonderful visit to the open air market... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
