This is truly one of the most beautiful spots in Paris. Find a chair and sit for awhile to bask in the beauty of a glorious fountain built by the Queen who had a palace near here and who knew the design of classic Italian fountains. This is the best spot in the park.

I was reading about this Gardens in a Paris Magazines. Wow It's is Amazing part of Paris and the Gardens is FREE to visit. I did like the Fontaine Medicis. Built around 1630 is one of the Luxembourge Gardens main attractions.

I popped the question. She said yes. She almost peed herself. I did good. Lol. In all seriousness the park and fountain are one of the most beautiful well-kept gems in the heart of Paris. My now fiancée and soon to be mother in law fell in love with the fountain even before I got down on one knee. I was worried because there were so many people taking photos but when they saw us start taking photos together they respectfully gave us space and even applauded! It was perfect!

I will always have a fond place in my heart of this fountain and park. I will be back.

This is one of my favorite fountains in Paris. It's almost hidden in the Luxembourg Gardens. It's a very peaceful place. There are chairs along the side of the fountain. It's easy to lose an hour here relaxing and maybe enjoying a picnic. Not sure where the fountain came from but I believe in the late 1800s somebody had moved here. The main character looks quite intimidating.

Understated, the Medici Fountain in the Luxembourg Gardens provides a focus of beauty for weary travelers. The Fountain only hints at what surroundings might have borne witness to the many visitors. Stylish apartments provide a nice backdrop. Definitely a hidden treasure in a city of many other treasures.

This fountain is perfect to visit in November. In autumn the Luxembourg Gardens are filled with falling leaves in red, orange and gold. Walk around the gardens before discovering the fountain. The fountain is impressive, with a large water area in front and tucked amongst established trees. The fountain is easy to get to by metro (Odeon, Cluny-Sorbonne) or RER (Luxembourg). Suggest you warm up with a hot chocolate at one of the many nearby cafes before heading into the gardens. I have a good explore in an hour, including the Luxembourg Gardens. Perfect place for a romantic walk in Paris.

We looked for the fountain during our visit to the Luxembourg Gardens because I had heard it was worth seeing. It is in a quiet and beautiful part of the Gardens so if you have time and there are chairs available, take a seat and sit and enjoy. When we were there we actually walked by a couple and as we walked by, the groom to be got down on bended knee and popped the question just at the moment we were there. I had my camera with me so I took a few pics and after a few minutes we let them know we had witnessed their happy moment and even had pictures for them - they were thrilled someone was there to capture the moment and it certainly made our day to know we were impromptu photographers.

My wife & I make a point of visiting this leafy hideaway every time we are in Paris.
The fountain & pool are located in the north-east corner of the Luxembourg Gardens.
Depending on the time of year you will find ducks in the pool & schools of fish in the inky water.
Walk behind the fountain; another facade was affixed to its backside in 1901.

I visited Paris in late August/ early September and I walked through this beautiful park on my last day. It was really great with fountains and sitting areas all in lush gardens. Don't miss a chance to see it. I highly recommend it.

A nice place to rest and relax especially on a warm sunny day. The fountain is almost hidden in the northeast corner of the Luxemburg Garden, it is small, but very nice with a bunch of chairs in the deep shade around the small pond in front of it. The main statue shows the unsettling scene of giant Cyclops Polyphemus (made in bronze) surprising the lovers Acis and Galatea (in white marble). Almost nobody goes behind the statue to discover another fountain, the Fontaine de Leda, a wall fountain with a relief represents the legend of Leda and the Swan.
