We went to see Aida, but this review is of the facility. Do not be late! Since the attacks in Paris, the doors close and NO ONE is allowed in after the show starts. They reopen the doors at intermission and let the rest of the people in. The seats were fine as far as comfort. We are used to... More

What an experience. We had the honor of watching a play in this Opera and it was amazing. Had to rent a suit but it was worth it. Magnificent.

I attended la Traviata this summer. The opera singers have been incredible, you were able to feel the "pathos". The structure is modern but it still leaves you in awe when you look at it.

During our recent visit to Paris, our son had reserved a performance of Riggoletto for May 2, 2016. In fact, it was our first time to Opera Bastille, a long way too from Le Meridien Etoile, via Metro. Performance was fully booked, we were very fortunate to have excellent seats: Row 18, Seats 11 & 13. The performance was excellent,... More

A wonderful performance of Der Rosenkavalier was enhanced by the superb acoustics, beautiful design and extremely speedy bar staff. The food and drink at the interval are not ultra-expensive. Staff are friendly and extremely quick, so no long, stressful waits for drinks at the interval. There is plenty of space to circulate and sit during the intervals. A must-see if... More

We had never been to the Opera Bastille. Will make no judgments on the opera itself (Rigoletto) but will admit we found the staging odd (a card board box). However, the seats at 100 euros each were unbelievable. Imagine the worst airline seat you can and that was the comfort level.. Cramped, hard, and uncomfortable. Go to the Palais Garnier... More

What an exciting tour of the Opera House! Our guide spoke English and did a wonderful job explaining the importance of the foyers for the rich and the one for the poor (back in the old days) and the stairs leading up to where each would sit. I didn't know that only the men would sit in the orchestra seats,... More

This is one of the best operas worldwide and I enjoy myself tremendously each time i go there. But this review is not about the art or the setting; it is about the bar. NEVER EVER go buy something there unless you don't care about looking like a fool. I expected to pay a bit more but not that much!... More

There are two amazing opera houses in Paris. This is the new modern hall. I found it roomy, audience friendly and well designed. The acoustics are solid for such a large house and the stage is huge and well equipped. Lots of cafes in the area. There is also a nearby Metro stop near the main entrance.

we travelled to Paris on the day specifically to see an opera performance in the evening and were only informed on the day of the performance of a strike which resulted in our performance being cancelled. We then had to queue to get our tickets refunded but have lost out on the train travel and hotel expenses - no apologies... More
