This was recommended to us by a friend who had lived in Paris. The pastries look and taste divine: some almost look too good to eat. We purchased some of their croissants for breakfast and they were delicious.,if we had the time, and the space, we would take some with us when we leave.

Fauchon has lovely pastries, chocolates, food gifts, deli, but there is one thing I would go back for again and again is the hot chocolate, OMG, just the best.

The choice is of high quality, but except for sweets rather limited, compared to the smaller and more charming local cheese and meat shops. Also the service and prices are not compelling to pay another visit. If you want a take out or a quick bite, it's ok.

As a regular guest/customer I visited Fauchon yesterday. except from the quality the service on the terrace was unfriendly and there was no sign of any interest in a customer.

This place has the BEST sweets in Paris. There are a lot to choose from and they are all Delicious! There are a lot of places to buy cakes and chocolates in Paris, this is the only place that has unique sweets.

Go to Paris each year in May and have never not visited Fauchon. Always for tea/coffee and cake, a purchase in the shop and once for dinner in the restaurant. It doesn't quite have the refinement of L'aduree but it still feels special and part of Paris and the cakes are delicious! When we had dinner in the restaurant the... More

Fauchon have the most delicious petit déjeuner available near gate A47 upstairs in their restaurant, with bagette, beurre échiré, strawberry jam and Café crème. The croissant was spectacular too. If you have time, visit Fauchon upstairs near gate A47, a better choice than Starbucks!

I loved this shop. There is so much to see if you are a foodie, spread across 2 shops. There is something for everyone, I went in there 3 times while I was in Paris, sometimes jus to look, other times I just had to buy something I could not resist.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
