French theatre at its glory. A public institution and the only theatre with its own resident troupe. A theatre established in 1680! We went to see Les Damnés, the most captivating play I have ever seen.

The Comedie Francaise has been around since the 17th .century. It is a state-subsided theatrical troupe. The repertoire is focused on the classics. If your French is not good, don't expect to understand very much. The Comedie Francaise is ;located in downtown Paris.

Come see the classics of French theater in an absolutely beautiful historic theater in a fantastic part of town You might want to read the play before you go as the language is sometime archaic.

What a beautiful space to see live theatre. The Richelieu room is absolutely spectacular and almost any seat is a great seat as the room is not that large. It's like one has stepped back in time. We saw a production of Moliere's Les Fourberies...More

Apparently it's considered to be the oldest still active theatre in the world. The theatre is part of the Palais Royal complex. We were treated to a free performance outside - a group of musicians played The Four Seasons by Vivaldi and played it very...More
