Temp 27 deg and we found ourselves walking by the Seine. A 22 year-old memory kicked in and we sought out Berthollin. Found a bench by the river and I went and got one dark chocolate, probably the best, one pistachio, delicious and one vanilla for my unadventurous husband. All rated delicious. You don't need to face the queue at... More

There is a big line to try the delicious flavors of ice cream. But it's fast...no worry! The variety is small...but it's a good thing coz each flavor is different and made amazingly well.

Holy ****. Best ice cream I have ever tasted. Incredible. I don't need to say more but trip advisor wants 100 characters min so I'm using up space...!

There's often a line to go to the shop, they have a lot of choices and they are very good but the size of the scoop is very small (about the size of a ping pong ball) and they are quite expensive, another thing that bothers me is that if you want to sit at a table at the shop... More

We had it twice on our trip to Paris. I would recommend the strawberry and lemon combination. Very pricey, but your on vacation.

My girlfriend and I came here since we were already on ile st. Louis, and heard great stuff about the ice cream. We each got two scoops, totalling 10€ which is fairly expensive, especially since the scoops were very small (about the size of ping pong balls). I had two marvellous flavours (hazelnut and melon), but my Girlfriend's salted caramel... More

We went to this place for dessert, after eating at a very good restaurant on the main street of l'Ile Saint Louis. We had a recommendation for Berthillon, and can only pass it on. I had 2 flavors: chocolate noir (dark chocolate) and caramel sale (salted caramel). People either buy to take away or sit in the small restaurant, which... More

Most delicious ice cream in Paris and maybe all of France! We sampled many flavours and ended up with strawberry tiramisu. One scoop was all we needed to satisfy the taste of the ice cream!

My only disappointment is that I did not go here on my first day in Paris - this was a taste experience that needs to be had. If you are a ice cream lover it is a must, if you are not it will turn you. Make the effort, well worth it

I've never been a big fan, but boy am I ever a convert now. This ice cream is absolutely fabulous, and just what you need when walking the streets in Paris as a tourist! Even in March it was divine.

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighborhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
