Shopping center is beautifully sublime each floor to its beauty part, especially in the Christmas period when you can see the 130th showcase of galleries that has access to the beauty of Christmas and its sweets. Unfortunately, it was very complicated to circulate inside by the craze that this sign provides. But you have to be silly not to go there during your visit to Paris. The access to the terrace has been closed, but I have already done it and it is a must of this city.

After seeing everything Paris is famous for, if you have a couple of hours left, it may be worth it. It is an excellent summa between the Rinascente in Milan and the Fondaco dei Tedeschi in Venice. Do not miss the roof terrace from which you can enjoy an almost 360-degree panorama. Absolutely avoid the terrace bar where - after waiting in line - the reception is managed by an aspiring princess Sissi “de noantri” with an inconvenient and inadequate way of doing things; last but not least, a drink at 9 € and a spritz at 15 may be understandable given the location, but they certainly do not please.

This is a very high end department store so if you are into shopping, this is the place to be! Galeries Lafayette is a gorgeous building with an amazing dome. There is a glass walkway you can stand out on over the inner atrium. If you go to every floor and every department, it will take you several hours as this place is really huge. I see other reviewers talk about a fee but I don't know what that fee is. We just walked into the building and shopped and dined for a few hours. If you can, try to go to the outdoor terrace for sweeping views of Paris! The baked goods were divine. We had lunch on the top level and as expected, it was pricey. Lots of people visit so if you don't like crowds, this isn't the place to be as it gets very crowded with pushy people.

Would recommend not going there on a Saturday. Went on a Saturday and there was hardly any breathing room given all the people. Returned on a Monday and it was much more sane. Make sure you got to the 8th floor terrace to see the views of Paris. You can also pre-book online a 5 min session to walk out on a glass floor under the dome o the 3rd floor. Would also not recommend getting gelato up on the 8th floor terrace - you get ripped off with a tiny scoop for 5e.

A fabulous department store, well worth visiting. Highlights were the stationery department and toy department. However every single floor was perfectly laid out full of gorgeous brands. Aside from the famous domed roof which is stunning, I would highly recommend visiting the seventh floor roof terrace for a stunning view over the Paris rooftops and the Eiffel Tower. As a free activity, this was a lovely way to spend half an hour. There are also deckchairs on the roof and almost a 360 degree view. A fantastic photo spot. Quiet too!

As one way to see Paris, we recommend the view from the rooftops of Galerie Lafayette, Osman. Panoramic views of the Opera Garnier as well as the Eiffel Tower Clear fence that doesn't disturb your view(?) There is also a place that has become, good for a commemorative photo If there is a problem, it seems that the only way to get up to the roof is by stairs, which may be more difficult for wheelchair users

Mecca for anyone who loves shopping. Exquisite domed ceiling, rooftop bar/cafe, seven floors of departments, fabulous selection. I recommend taking your time and maybe a break halfway through by enjoying a snack on one of the middle floors, where you can also walk out on an extended plank to view the dome from a better angle. Here you will find everything from luxury designers to mid designers (especially French brands), and an excellent second-hand section. Shoes? Yes, an entire floor! Lingerie? Yep, huge selection and a variety of brands/sizes. Everyone is helpful and friendly. This is a "must do" if shopping is one of your goals -- it's a great place to start for an overview of French brands and all that a Paris shopping experience has to offer.

One Saturday in December, as soon as the special Christmas windows were installed, we rushed with the two girls to visit the LAFAYETTE GALLERIES. We're not disappointed even if the myth of Santa Claus, we don't believe it anymore. We enjoyed: - a visit to the windows and the shop at an off-peak hour -the store's surveillance system because the crowd attracts the ill-intentioned -windows, it's always difficult to change every year! This year, with white glitter characters (adults, children, birds etc) it is well done and amateur photographers were not lacking - the visit of the store, then, made in slow motion due to the crowd is interesting by the variety of products offered for sale, each stand offering its specialties - the finish is dazzling; it's going up to the top floor (it takes time) and admire the electrified tree, below the magnificent dome. A very nice walk , to program intelligently (little crowd). Congratulations again to the decorating teams!!

We stopped in at the Galeries Lafayette on a rainy morning in Paris to see this 1890s Art Nouveau/Art Deco building and its beautiful stained glass dome. We made same-day reservations for free access to the Glasswalk, a 30-foot glass platform installed to allow visitors a clearer look at the nearly 150-foot high dome installed in 1912. Our wait in line as short, and this experience did not disappoint (although it was a little unsettling to walk out on glass to see the dome). Still the beautiful colors of the glass above are stunning. And the gilded ironwork on the balconies by Louis Majorelle and other dome details are magnificent works of art! Beyond that, we wandered through some of the women's designer departments and the 6th floor gifts and souvenirs department (where we enjoyed views of Paris out the windows; the rooftop terrace was closed due to weather). An enjoyable department store experience!

This flagship store alone has three buildings, with over 3500 brands to choose from, whether you want to pack, jewelry or cosmetics or even eat accompaniment. More importantly, be sure to look at its luxurious interior decoration and tell you that the top floor has a viewing desk where you can see the entire Paris city for free. I've never seen a store company that is so good at business and like a store opened for Chinese. The proportion of Chinese entrepreneurs is very high. Feel half, luxury brands have a lot of clothes and backpacks and toy cosmetics. Free WiFi and toilet. Decorated very gorgeous place. The cosmetic shop next to the old Buddha is good to buy, the shopkeepers will speak Korean and Chinese, so there are many Korean and Chinese tourists to buy goods here, greater than imagined, the goods are blooming, the shopkeepers are very attentive and also organize the goods that tourists will buy in a comparison area, which is convenient for customers to select. You can buy all the popular swans, skin springs and swannas.

We booked the macaron making class at Galeries Lafayette's Haussmann store, thinking this would be a really special thing to do in the heart of Paris, towards the end of our time in France. We would have preferred a cooking class but had difficulty finding one that matched our itinerary. To call this experience a cooking class would be to call an alley cat a tiger. For 60 euros per person, we watched our host make macarons in a kitchenaid mixer, were invited to pipe 2 macaron biscuits each onto a tray, whisked the most minute amount of chocolate ganache in one bowl and some pistachio cream in another, filled four biscuits (that we didn't bake) and took them away in a showy box. To be fair, the biscuit box and bag were the best part of the deal, but certainly did not meet any notion of value for money. Now, I know, sure, I'm in Paris, you say, so things cost more. Of course. But in a baking class, you'd expect to mix some flour yourself, or put something in an oven. Nope! Not this one. And in defence of the venue, the host was actually really lovely and tried really hard to make the lesson engaging with her 8 guests, but still, this was a wholly underwhelming experience. And we were all done in under an hour! Could not possibly recommend this to anyone!

First time visiting as British citizen in Paris with my disabled mother who is unable to walk.

We decided to visit gallery Lafayette.
However, upon our visit we tried using the lift which was supervised by some colleagues of gallery Lafayette who didn’t want us to get inside the lift as whole family.

This person has racial remarks towards British citizens. I hope gallery Lafayette looks into this matter and take actions.

We just couldn’t understand why this person didn’t want us to stay together as family and use the lift. However he was allowing other people use the lift to go up, but prevented us from going in together leaving my brother outside hence we refused use the lift as split family, so we could stay together as we could easily get lost in Paris.

This is very disgusting behaviour who seemed like uneducated person who works in gallery Lafayette in boulevard.

We have taken civilised and polite approach to use the lift for my disabled mother and my family to stay together so we don’t let lost, however this was a problem for this individual that was guarding the lift as it was busy, we understand order is needed due to the que but what we don’t understand is why did he need ask us to go separately to the top floor.

This is a very poor practice via gallery Lafayette in Paris as tourist visit this place from all over the world and we don’t need to go through hard time especially with a disabled person in the family.

The lift clearly states disable person wheelchair sign to be used.

Visited over Christmas 2023 and it was almost impossible to move around inside. Lots and lots of people. Lovely gallery. The stands and shops are mainly of important and international brands and the prices are high. Inside you can also find bars and restaurants. There is the possibility of accessing the glass walk, a bridge that allows you to take photos with the installations in the dome in the background but you must book in advance via the site. There is also a panoramic terrace with a beautiful view of the city . The Gallery is then divided into two other buildings: Galerie Lafayette Homme and Le Gourmet.

We visited just before Christmas to see the Christmas display. It was extremely busy but well worth seeing. Security manned the escalators, so even though there was a bit of a wait it all ran smoothly and the crowd thinned the further up you went. The building itself is absolutely stunning with the dome ceiling, but add the spectactular Christmas centrepiece & decorations it was well worth the visit, especially if you are a shopper.

The cupola is lovely but don't go to the basement cafe. We waited 20 mins to be seated and another fifteen minutes until my wife who is fluent in French, called loudly for service. Then the waiter was surly. Not recommended.

I'd heard this was a place that I just HAD to go to. So, on my third trip to Paris, I finally decided to stop by. For me, it was almost a complete waste of time. I don't really like to shop, and I'm definitely not in to buying grossly overpriced, high-fashion brands. It wasn't like an American mall, which is more what I was hoping it would be. There isn't even a food court or a regular restaurant, only fancy ones or ones with just snacks and drinks. The dome was very pretty, but the sales people (understandably) do not like you going into their areas to take a quick picture. There are some openings along the center that aren't blocked by kiosks (they're not really kiosks) . Aim for those! It is worth a 5-10 minute stop to see the dome.
That being said, if you like expensive brands & want to be able to say you bought it in Paris to kick up your friends' envy an extra notch or two, you'll probably really enjoy it.

I know I sound like an entitled American with my expectation of what a mall should be like. The mall, in Prague, Czechia, lived up to my expectation, though! The closest thing I've found so far around Paris is Centre Commercial Avenir in Drancy, France. If you know of more, let me know! I like to check out where the average French person goes.

Located in a major Paris department store, we had expected mostly a demonstration class and were absolutely surprised and delighted that it was a small very hands-on experience. The chef was an excellent bilingual instructor (the other four in the class were French) and the experience was most informative and satisfying. For the price of a nice lunch in a Paris restaurant, we were treated to a great culinary learning experience, plus an elegant food and wine lunch. Highly recommended.!!

Another architectural masterpiece of Paris. Even if you have no plans to shop, be sure to check it out here. A treat for the eyes. Unrealistically beautiful dome and stained glass windows. Geometry, lines, color scheme. Everything is complete delight. Enjoy wonderful coffee in the cafe overlooking the dome on the 3rd floor, if I remember correctly for 4.5 €. There is an area for photo sessions against the backdrop of all this luxury, a transparent platform that extends towards the center of the dome, but a place must be booked in advance on the website.
And be sure to go up to the observation deck (on one side there are stairs, on the other there is an escalator).
There you will discover Paris in all its glory. And at arm's length is the Opera Garnier.
You can come back again and again!!!

We went to the Cafe, the food was lukewarm and tasteless, the service was awful, after waiting in line at the cashier she closed her stall when a colleague came out to open the one next to her. Instead of having us go in order over to the colleague they just let everyone rush to get in the line and after we had waited and finally got to be the first in line, when she closed we ended up last in line again at the next stall. Then we found out we had to go to the bar area after paying to get our wine glass and beer opened, this meant another long line while our food got colder and colder. Overall the worse food experience in Paris. The view from the terrace one floor up from the Cafe is nice, eat on the street before heading up there.

The Dome placed throughout the central atrium is magnificent.
Scenic.
Beautiful effects of colors, mosaics and if you search the Internet for the history of this great shopping center, you will be enchanted.
On the top floor the terrace to see Paris.
Personally removed the above, living in Milan city, the rest is like the Rinascente.
Perhaps the latter smaller but the concept is that. So I wasn't as surprised as anyone who's never seen them both.
We visited the design goods department, toys even though we are three adults, and we saw some stuffed animals that must be unavailable given the prices and the fact that they were locked in untouchable windows.
However in all this we made our purchases, satisfied.
He deserves it!
