Went on the first day of sales, really not a sales day as you can't find that bargains. Really overcrowded, specially Chinese tourists, so plan your visit.

With seven floors of shopping, prepare to spend a few hours here. Most of the merchandise is over-priced, but you can save money if you happen to be there during a sale. Take the escalators to the roof for an excellent view of the city.

Galeries Lafayette is an spectacular shopping mall. The ceiling and atrium on the center is simply amazing. It takes your breath away because of the beautiful architecture and details. Even though you don't have money to spend in fancy and designer clothes, jewelry and beauty products you must go just to walk, do some window shopping and seat at the... More

We arrived Paris on 10.12.2017. We were robbed in Louis Vuitton on the 02nd Floor of Galaries La Fayette. I put down the MCM bag on the sofa due to the heavy weight of the bag with my kids stuff. I did not moved or left my bag as I know the rate of theft in Paris is in rise... More

Lafayette never fails to surprise me with their window decor. This year my little one enjoyed every aspect of it. I did a bit of shopping and as usual the staff were very attentive and helpful. Although it is a large department store but its a large department store with plenty of character. It's also the one store you can... More

We loved looking at all the high end merchandise. Every designer imaginable is under this roof. It's beautiful and being there over Christmas just added to the beauty. Very busy and very expensive to buy anything.

This is a huge department store and just that. You see a lot of very expensive brands like Cartier, Chanel and others. And that's it. In my opinion, the only thing nice is the ceiling, which is beautiful. But if I wanted to buy something from the expensive brands you see at the Galerie, I'd prefer to buy directly in... More

The shopping venue is excellent, you can find everything you wish for. The toy store is quite varied with wonderful toys. The cafeteria is pretty standard but extremely overpriced. The Terrace view is incredible.

Beautiful shopping, and the roof top terrace with bar is a must for sunset. Great view of the opera and the Eiffel tower.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
