If you are in rush and just want to have one stop for shopping then maybe this is for you. But remember, you will have to fight with the crowd and the store hours. And make sure you have enough time for your tax refund processing. I prefer my own space so I usually head here early then St Honorè,... More

Great place for lots of branded items, many brands but maybe limited in variety and sizes. Wonderful staff and very helpful from purchase to tax refund. It could so with some spicing up of the decoration, but still keep the grandness. The main hall was amazing.

This really is the pinnacle of department stores - so many things including designer concessions, beautiful clothes, glorious cosmetics and perfumes and more budget priced gifts - like trays, glasses and bags. We loved the rooftop bar where we enjoyed drinks and fantastic views of the city. There was one oddity! There is a terrific glass dome with an atrium... More

My family and I had the pleasure of visiting GL in July 2015. This is 8 floors of a shopper's dream: an amped up mega mall! People of all ethnicities and ages filled this place on every floor. This is an upscale experience, from the makeup counters of Loccitane to Yves Saint Laurent (located on the street level floor) to... More

Each time we've ventured into GL it's amazing; crowds of all shapes, colors and types all eager to part with some serious Euros at De Beers, Rolex, Tiffany's, Tom Ford . . . Numerous floors echoing a thousand voices, fragrances unimaginable and an array of everything in a shopping mall in a vertical presentation. In the end, it's a shopping... More

Went here just to say I had been. But the central dome and galleries are beautiful. Huge place -really a monstrous House of Fraser but with brands I had never heard of! Worth a visit but just don't use the loos in the basement. Roof top terrace is worth a visit for the views and the cafe up there isn't... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
