we always stop in here when in Paris, actually there are some great small restaurants in the "home" building. If you want to see everything possible under one roof this is the place. We are here at Christmas and there are lines to get into the Channel shops. If you want it and can afford it it's here. Every designer... More

I enjoy rediscovering Galeries Lafayette each time we are in Paris and this latest trip delivered the fun, glamour and class we have come to expect from such a legendary establishment. My wife and I enjoyed the free fashion show (with reservations in advance), shopping, picking up some gourmet food items and, of course, a meal and drinks on the... More

Must see department store with gorgeous Christmas decorations and everything you could be looking for if considering special Parisian gifts to take home e.g. Fauchon chocolates

The holy pilgrimage of shopping. Women love it, guys well, do your duty. Busy on weekends and at lunch. Very expensive!

Went to see their world famous Christmas tree and as expected, it's quite impressive. I don't like shopping and couldn't really care about anything else. Extortionate prices everywhere including local restaurants.

Hi KP, Thanks for your feedback. We have dining options at every price point. For your next visit, we suggest you stop by the 6th Lafayette Cafe in the cupola store or Pret a Manger in the Gourmet building for quick and tasty to go options. Kind regards, Katelyn More

A beautiful shopping experience and the architecture is incredible. Also, it is very close to the Opera House so you can visit both.

Place has grandeur history and is perfectly preserved. More then a hundred years old and still very actual. A must see. Coffee break with macarons at level two or three is recommended for paus and photos.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
