About
Dali Paris exhibits over 300 artworks by Salvador Dali from a private collection. Painting, sculptures, etchings, surrealist objects and furniture bring to life the peculiar ideas of an insatiable explorer, passionate about atomic science, the Antiquity, the Renaissance, alchemy or religion. Salvador Dali never stopped modeling, transforming. His sculptures are one of the major aspects of his life work, materializing in three dimensions his surrealistic obsessional motifs: soft watches, spindly legs animals, open or closed drawers. Salvador Dali had an encyclopedic culture, and reinvents major texts from international literature by illustrating them: Alice in Wonderland, Don Quichotte, the Bible, offering an infinite variety of forms and colors, from delicate watercolors to striking splashes. The Art Gallery will offer specialized advice thanks to qualified experts, archive consultation and catalogues raisonnes.

Impressive collection but not handicap accessible.
The Dali Museum is a small museum in the Montmartre in Paris. If you are an art enthusiast or just want to learn more about Dali or surrealistic art, this is a great opportunity for you. In the lobby level there is an area where you can sit and watch a video and read about the genius who started the surrealism movement in art, which I advise that you take the time to do. The staff are very helpful in explaining the work and answering questions. There is a fee for admission. It is not handicapped friendly. From the lobby there are two very steep flights of stairs going down to the main museum and the same stairs to ascend to leave. I highly recommend visiting this museum because it is a terrific opportunity to get up close to works by a great artist that are seldom seen in the larger museums which seem to focus on more traditional form of artwork. If you have deep pockets, you can actually walk away with a piece of signed and numbered artwork, or maybe even an original.

    a bit disappointed
I expected more, honestly. None of the famous paintings you think of when you think of Dalí are here. I think some are in Spain and most are in Florida. You can see a lot of his sketches and statues here, and some lovely pictures of Gala. I was underwhelmed by this museum. The museum is quite small - expect to spend about 45 minutes here. I wouldn’t recommend unless you’re a diehard Dalí fan. I found it overpriced for the size and collection. Unlike many other museums and attractions in Paris, you definitely don’t need to buy tickets in advance for this one.

    Nice experience
Just around the corner of Place du Tertre (tourist trap pur-sang) you can find this small museum with some nice art works. Often with a smile, sometimes open mouth for the original statues and paintings. It is a private museum but the €14 fee is OK for me to help preserve this collection. You can spend an hour, hour and a half there and leave with a good feeling.

This is a private museum of an art dealer who worked with Dali. The museum has an impressive collection of sculpture work by Surrealist artist Salvador Dali. The artwork is displayed with text descriptions in French and English. There is also artwork available for sale before exiting the museum and gallery.
A visit here can easily be paired with a visit to the Sacre Coeur and Musee d'Montmartre.

The Dali Paris is not a must see in Paris like the Orsay or the Louvre. Dali was a great artist but the Dali Paris has the feel more like an art gallery than a museum dedicated to this guy. It's part of the Paris City Pass so we made use of it but if you're short in time, you can avoid this. The Paris museum is definitely not on the same evel as the St. Petersburg one. It doesn't have any of the great giant portraits like Florida does. It does have many drawings and sculptures but I was left wanting. 90 minutes would be sufficient here.

Dear StephenN1694, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you didn't enjoy our museum as much as the one in Florida. Our collection is a private one with more than 300 artworks with mainly sculptures and engravings. But as you said we do not have giant portraits nor oil paintings but we hope you liked your experience anyway (and Montmartre!) Best regards,

I very much enjoyed visiting Dali Paris! The museum is fantastic, it includes a wide range of Dali’s works and helpful explanations around his use of symbols in his work. There is also a gallery that sells original works from Dali which includes a great selection and the certainty of their authenticity given their expertise. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

If you're into Dali or art in general this is a good way to spend an hour or two. It's not a huge museum but it's well stocked in terms of the art itself and the information it provides on Dali. Also it's central location lends itself to being part of a day in the area. Worth a visit!

We had a spare hour in Montmartre and enjoy art but are far from experts. This gallery was wonderful. A wide range of pieces including book illustrations which I had no idea about beforehand. Just the right amount of information about Dali’s life and work. I really enjoyed it and went away wanting to read more about his art.

It was very nice have the chance of seeing some pieces of the very famous artist. The museum is a little bit hidden in Montmartre but it is worth it visiting it... The attraction was included on the Paris Pass card we had bought before going to Paris.

I adore Dali, and was excited to visit this exhibit in Paris. Extensive advertising around the area and at the venue promised a large range of original works.

We went in to find not a single original Dali, but work from an artist inspired by Dali.

We went straight back out, thinking we had gone into the wrong room, and asked for directions to the main exhibit. It was here that the receptionist informed us that all Dali works were "unavailable" for viewing.

We asked for a refund, as it is an expensive exhibit and false advertising. She responded with a blunt "no refunds". Apparently no manager on site to talk to, so that was that - a complete con.

We have been emailing to complain since visiting, but all emails ignored.

It's really disappointing to see such fraudulent behaviour in Paris, evidently intended to rip-off tourists.
