Went here with a friend really nicely laid out and helpful staff. Not huge but a nice size for the exhibition I saw.

An opportunity to see many works - spanning his life - of Jean Fautrier. Starting with figurative art, later moving towards informel art. Artist denied it was abstract, but visitor, make up your own mind. Art that has 'brut' nature, material, loaded. Exhibition with paintings...More

Always go for the special (non-permanent) exhibition at the Musee d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris. Just been to the excellent one on Jean Fautrier (see photos). The exhibitions space is spacious, well designed and — well — lovely, with generously showing a lot....More

worth a visit if you want to pass some time , but it could do with some more works. There are many better museums in Paris though

Check to see if there is a special expo that is of interest to you, and if so, go because the exposition space is terrrific, big and flexible. Otherwise, not much reason to come here. And the plaza in front is a big skate board...More

A fine collection of classic modern but a disappointing recent visit. After being closed for re-hanging for a year, it was hard to notice much of a difference. What did they actually do? The cafe was closed for no obvious reason whilst the audioguide desk...More

Dear dar268, We are very sorry about your disappointment. You’re right, the museum’s permanent collections has been closed some months for renovation (repainted walls, ground refurbishment, lighting retrofit…). We really think that the improvement of the reception conditions of the public is very important. That's...More

We were happy for the free museum and so surprised to see so many top named artists - Picasso, Matisee and Renoir. I especially like the Picasso sketches. We were there a little over an hour.
