This monument is at the center of a traffic square, very chaotic with heavy vehicle traffic, can be seen from a distance only. Though there are many restaurant and hangout places just nearby to it.

Monument to the 1848 revolution, in the middle of the Place de la Bastille. Not such a pretty tourist site, but the Place is OK, surrounded by some good cafes, also some chain restaurants and the bizarre new opera house. A crossroads.

The place where it's located is, itself, an attraction. And the column is beautiful and well preserved. For the ones who like history, it's highly advisable. It reminded me of the column in Louise, Bruxelles.
