We booked a tour of the Leonardo Da Vinci exhibit at the Louvre for our family and we couldn't have been happier. Beate von der Seipen was our guide and she was wonderfully engaging. She was able to bounce back and forth between keeping our kids engaged (6 and 4) and sharing her love of art with my wife and I as well. I would highly recommend this tour and especially if you have kids, Beate is fantastic.

We did a "Time to Explore Paris" walking tour with Christina, and it was so fun! It was well suited for our kids, 12 and 9. My husband and I learned a lot, too! There were lots of little details that Christina told us, and I would never have known these things by walking around or reading tour guides. If we go back to Paris, we will definitely do another tour with Paris Muse.

We began our week with a private walking tour led by Jessica. She was so warm, friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. Our time with her absolutely flew by! We chose to do the walking tour on our first full day of Paris thinking it would give us a good overview of the city. We had no idea just how much we would learn and carry with us throughout the week. Our time with Jessica laid a solid foundation that allowed our subsequent tours in Paris and Versailles to make complete sense to us! Not only was she knowledgeable, we loved our time with her and wished we could have spent the rest of the day with her! On Thursday, we met Karine at the Orsay. I am embarrassed to admit that I had suffered a migraine headache early in the morning (4:00am), and was still bleary eyed from the medication that I have to take to get rid of them. In spite of that working against us, my husband and I enjoyed the tour immensely and learned so much about the rules of the academy to be chosen for the Salon. We were afraid that we should have toured the Louvre prior to our visit to the Orsay, however, the order worked out perfectly! She recommended that we change the type of tour we had scheduled so that we could do the introductory tour on Friday at the Louvre. We were so impressed that she called the company immediately after our tour to make that change. Our tour at the Louvre may have been the absolute highlight of ur trip! Alice was so patient with us and took so much time to go into detail about the artifacts and answer all of our questions. I cannot imagine having tried to do a self-guided or large group tour of the Louvre. She ended our tour in front of the Mona Lisa after we admitted that we weren’t really sure what all the fuss was about this painting, of all the paintings in the Museum. She showed the painting to us from different angles and explained that DaVinci had a way of drawing the observer in and making the painting come to life/making us more than an observer but part of the artwork, itself. It struck me that that was exactly what Alice had done for us throughout our tour of the Louvre. She drew us in and made the artwork come to life in a way I never could have imagined possible. We are so grateful for the time and passion each of the guides shared with us. We cannot recommend them highly enough. I wish the company would expand so that these one of a kind tours were available world wide. I would be sure to include them when visiting any major, historical city.

We did the Marais walking tour. Lovely January day (sunny and not too cold) and our guide, Amanda, was knowledgeable and very easy going. It was interesting and I’m glad we did it. We were the only ones on the tour which was great and despite the required ‘type’ category below, this was not a couples tour, just a tour. It expensive, though.

Do yourself a favor and sign up now for the Treasures of the Louvre tour! Out of all the tours I’ve taken throughout the world, this might have been the most pleasurable and informative one I’ve experienced. My mother and I had the luck of traveling to Paris during a transportation strike which played a toll on the museum hours. We had signed up for a 9:30 tour, but Paris Muse accurately anticipated that the museum would have a delayed opening and reached out several days in advance to ask if we would mind being rescheduled for a 13:30 tour. They also offered us a refund in case we weren’t able to make the new time. However, due to the advanced notice, we were able to adjust our schedule to attend the tour. The instructions for where to meet our tour guide, Alice, were clear and we were easily able to find her. We were the only ones on the tour that day (I imagine due to the ongoing strikes and protests) but Alice had so much energy that I’m confident she could have easily managed and entertained a group of 10! Alice, a previous art history major, was very knowledgeable and passionate about the artwork and history of the Louvre. In addition to seeing all the famous pieces (Venus de Milo, Mona Lisa, etc), we learned about the history of France and how art has evolved. We also learned about how the Louvre had transformed throughout the revolutions. Alice has a special talent when it comes to educating others about art and making art exciting! I have been to the Louvre once before, but honestly felt so lost. After going on this tour with Alice, I feel like I have officially visited the Louvre! Next time I’m in Paris, I plan on taking another one of Paris Muse’s tours!
