The chapel was consecrated in 1815. The chapel is a symbol of salvation from cholera which raged in 1832 in Paris. The interior of the temple is completely subordinated to the image of the Mother of God. The interior is airy and delicate.

Located close to Bon Marche supermarket which is the best landmark to give a taxi driver, the Chapel of the Miraculous Medal is a beautiful location which is very heavenly. Please check the opening hours to avoid the Church being closed or too busy. Mass times are particularly busy. The body of St Catherine is located at the top of the Church to the right of the main altar, to the right of St Catherine Laboure's tomb is the seat which is cornered off that Our Lady sat upon when St Catherine had her vision. The statue of Saint Vincent De Paul is behind the chair. (Please note the body of St Vincent de Paul is buried within walking distance from Rue de Bac). Mass is lovely but I also loved to sit in the Church and pray. There are some locals though who seems to sit in the Church all day. There is a gift shop on the way into the Church and this has lots of lovely souvenirs which you can purchase. Also to mention the body of St Louise de Marillac who is the co-founder of the Daughters of Charity is buried to the left of the Altar. I found this Church to be beautiful, heavenly and I will definitely return to see St Catherine Laboure. Please visit this beautiful location

The Chapel, in fact, belongs to Our Lady of Graces. His appearance to Catarina Labouré is impressive and touching. For those who believe and those who don't believe, the environment is great, calm, reassuring. If you can go to Mass, even better. And then, the little shop will have souvenirs for all tastes, especially the Medal, which is Miraculous for those who carry it with faith, as said by Our Lady.

The rmains of St. Louise and her altar were my main reason for attending. Louise was a rmarkable woman and the pattroness of social workers. She with Vincent de Paul founded the Daughters of Charity and revolutionuzed care of abandoned children.

We went to visit on the day of the Assumption of Mary, 15/08. A wonderful mass, the chapel is very beautiful! At the end we bought the medals and the Father blessed them. The celebration is blessed! It was quite crowded, due to the holiday. Yes, it’s worth a visit!

This chapel is a MUST see for any Catholic or person interested in the Catholic saints. This chapel is a pilgrimage site for many devotees. In this chapel, the Blessed Virgin appeared to Saint Catherine Labouré, a Seminary Sister (novice) in the Daughters of Charity in 1830, in order to offer the world a medal. When a deadly cholera epidemic broke out in Paris in February 1832, claiming more than 20,000 lives, the Sisters of the convent began distributing the first medals to the local people. Many cures were reported, along with protection and conversions. The word spread like wild fire. The people of Paris called the medal “miraculous”. The heart of St. Vincent de Paul is also located in a tomb in the altar area of this chapel. When Catherine's body was exhumed in 1933, it was found miraculously preserved. Her incorrupt body now lies on display in the chapel in a glass case. Pope Pius XII named her a Saint on July 27, 1947. We attended Sunday mass here. It's a simple and beautiful convent chapel.

I made the Holy Virgin the promise of visiting her chapel every time I come to Paris. I have never regretted it. Go and feel in your hearth the love and peace She only can provide.

PROS: beautiful smallish church; unassuming exterior ; close to Bon Marche ; incorruptible Saint Catherine and wax figure of St. Louise( with her bones inside the figure); serene and brightly lit interior; affordable items from the gift shop from the miraculous medals of the Blessed Mother to the rosaries with the medal in them; they were the most affordable church gift shop we encountered (compared with the Basilicas and Cathedrals we visited) plus the church has a significant Marian Miracle connection; if you cannot visit Lourdes while in Paris, this may be the next best thing!
CONS: none, the nuns in the gift shop were very accommodating!

It was God's Will that I visit this place. Since I got an unexpected extra day in Paris from a flight cancellation, I wanted to very dearly visit this very famous Church. In 1830, a 24 year old nun, Sr. Catherine Laboure had 3 different meetings with the Virgin Mary. What eventually happened is that a Medal was made with the Holy Virgin's appearance on the front and on the back was a Cross, with an M and below 2 Hearts, one of Jesus' Heart with thorns and the other, Mary's Heart with a sword piercing it. I actually have this on my original First Holy Communion Rosary and with the year 1830 below. I never thought that one day I would actually visit the actual place where my Miraculous Medal originated from. What a solemn place to pray and meditate as I even attended a Holy Mass while I was there. Sr Catherine's Body is incorrupt.
