About
La Cuisine Paris is a cooking school in the centre of Paris offering hands-on cooking classes and food tours in English. Our school is located in the heart of Paris just minutes away from Notre Dame, the Marais, and the famous Hotel de Ville. Our classes are taught in a warm and friendly environment and are small and hands-on - we like everyone to get stuck in! Join us to learn to make beautiful macarons or buttery croissants, or to learn how to use seasonal products inspired by a French Market visit. Or spend time with us outside of the kitchen and indulge your taste buds on a food tour, from our fromage and wine workshop, to our sweet Pastry and Chocolate tour, to our historical tour of the Kings kitchen garden in Versailles, there is something for everyone. Come and join us to learn some tips and secrets so that you can recreate French cuisine in your home kitchen!

This was such an awesome experience! Chef Segolene was incredible - knowledgeable, informative, entertaining, encouraging, and expertly guided us through making delicious tarts! She made this course accessible for all cooking experience levels and allowed us to be hands-on through the entire process. She also made a map of her favorite restaurants, pastry shops, and market stores in the surrounding area. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Paris! I can’t recommend La Cuisine enough... next time we visit Paris we will definitely sign-up for another opportunity to learn at La Cuisine!

I did the macaron making course and it was great. I'd really recommend taking a few hours out of your trip to Paris to experience this. The location was easy to find and there was a warm welcome from the minute I stepped through the door. There were 7 of us on the course from 5 different countries so an eclectic mix. There was a range of cooking/baking experience but we all left with boxes full of macarons so must have got something right.
The chef, William, was brilliant. Really patient, experienced, fun and explained everything really well. He even took time at the end of the course to recommend restaurants, markets and cafes in the city.
We all left with more confidence than when we arrived - and much fuller tummies! I'd now feel able to make these at home although I haven't tried yet. The course is good value for money and is in a great location by the banks of the Seine so you can take your treats to the river or head over the nearby bridge for lunch in a street cafe. I'd thoroughly recommend giving this a go. I'll definitely go back and do another course next time I'm in Paris.
My only suggestion would be to replace the single use plastic aprons and replace with re-useable cloth ones which people could buy?

Organized, knowledgeable, friendly, and their communication is quick and clear. I booked a private pastry tour of the Marais for my university students, and our group was very large so they split us in two. The guides were very friendly and very knowledgeable about pastry as well as historical sites and general facts about Paris. They provided water, a bag to hold information about the sites we visited, and we made several stops, during which time they explained the history of the pastry and provided samples for us to eat. It was clear that this group also takes the time to maintain positive relationships with the businesses in the neighborhood as the businesses we visited were prepared for us and friendly. We were not pressured to purchase any additional items, but when a few students asked if we had time to do so the guides gave them time to do so and gave insight regarding language or items when asked.
This was an English language tour. The guides were very interactive with the students, making the point to speak with each person and giving my French language students the chance to practice some of their French skills.
Given the number of pastries we ate and the knowledge we gained on the tour, this was well worth the money. Every single student on the tour noted this was one of their favorite activities (not just because it delicious, but also because of what they learned), and I will be contacting this company again to set up future experiences.

It is always a pleasure to have a class at La Cuisine.For many years now, I have enjoyed working with this staff and their chefs as they always make their sessions informative and fun, whether baking or cooking . Everyone gives 100 percent effort to make certain your cooking experience is one you will treasure. The facility is very clean, modern and easy to locate and.... I won't mention the gorgeous view one will have when you sit down to taste your final product! If you have a few extra hours to spend while in Paris, I do recommend this school. They have an excellent friendly website where you can read about all their class dates and where you can sign up. Give La Cuisine a call or send them an email...you will walk away with a wonderful Parisian experience!

There is no better way to learn how to prepare French pastries than with an accomplished professional pastry chef who has studied her profession for years. Segolene is also a talented teacher who conveys the depth of her expertise with enthusiasm and charm. You will both learn a lot and have fun in her class. And, oh, you will get to enjoy the enjoy the best croissant you've ever had just out of the oven. It will spoil you in the best way possible for life!
La Cuisine Paris offers a variety of classes taught in English. Schedule a class as soon as you know your travel schedule as classes of 8 fill quickly. Students also get a sheet with recommended cafes, restaurants, and chocolate shops.
This is my second class with La Cuisine Paris and I can't wait for my next La Cuisine Paris adventure!

La Cuisine Paris lets you create yummy croissants, pains au chocolat and pains aux raisins from scratch - from prepping the dough and butter, to kneading the dough into the desired shapes and baking it. And there's nothing like tasting your own handiwork straight out of the oven - best pain au chocolat EVER!
Our pastry chef Eline was terrific! A French native, she spoke English beautifully and set the perfect fun, casual tone for the class. She demonstrated the proper techniques, provided advice and made us feel like true Parisian pastry chefs - at least for three hours!
I'd recommend this class to anyone looking for a unique, immersive way to experience Paris. And their cooking class smelled equally delicious!

I love to cook at home, but this was my first ever live cooking class and I LOVED it! I took the French sauces class and I learned so much more in three hours than I expected to. It was approachable but also helped me up-level some of my skills and techniques in a significant way. Walked away with pages of notes, delicious recipes, and the only reason I was excited to leave Paris was to try out the sauces in my home kitchen! I recommend going towards the beginning of your visit because the chef gives a lot of recommendations on local places to shop/eat!

Our family had an incredible time on our walking tour of Le Marais with Karin! From learning about the dedication of the artisans behind the baked goods and chocolates, and hearing about the history of the neighborhood, to seeing her favorite secret garden - we felt like we had an insider’s tour of the area. She kept our girls engaged the whole time, and we could sense her passion for sharing this part of Paris with her guests. We would highly recommend this as a way of visiting and tasting the best of pastry, bread and chocolate in the area as shown by a Parisian! Merci Karin and the La Cuisine team.

While visiting Paris, I knew I would have a day to venture out on my own, so I booked the Best of French Pastry class at La Cuisine Paris. It's not like me to take a baking class (I tend to be a culinary end user), but I wanted to try something a tad less touristy. This was that.
First of all, the location is right in the mix of things--across the Seine from Notre Dame. It's like a scene from a movie, really.
There were five of us and Eline, an endlessly talented, entertaining, and knowledgeable pastry chef. (She really was a delight.) We operated in teams of two and since there were five of us, I was paired with Eline, which suited me and my skill level just fine, merci.
Somehow we were able to complete four classic pastries in the course of about three hours: Baba au Ruhm Chantilly, Madeleines, Creme Brulee Vanille, and Fondant au Chocolat.
It wasn't just following a recipe; Eline walked us through the logic of certain preparation steps, the reason French butters are so varied and distinct compared to other nations' butters, why measuring ingredients by weight is better than by volume, and on and on and on. (If that sounds tedious, it's not at all. Eline could easily have her own television show. She should actually, if any talent scouts are reading this.)
I know that my four colleagues enjoyed themselves, too. If they didn't, they certainly hid it well. We ate what we wanted, boxed up the rest, quizzed Eline on the best places to experience these desserts in the wild, and said our adieus. This experience will last a lifetime.
This is a five-star recommendation. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

My wife and I took the soufflé class on Valentines Day. It was the first cooking class either of us have ever taken and it was amazing. Chef Cyril was an excellent teacher and his passion for cooking was evident. We learned a lot about cooking, French culture, and Paris. Chef Cyril also gave a recommendations places to eat in the city, they didn’t disappoint.

Check the FAQs. I think they require a parent to take the class. We finally decided to just take the class with our kids. I’m not a hobby cook but I have no regrets. It was a splurge but one of the absolute best memories I have from the trip and I was allowed to take photos since I was in the class.

The kitchen areas are not toddler friendly and there are no facilities to entertain a child. Classes are several hours and can be intense leaving no time to care for a young one.

For the croissant making class, do you leave with a lot of pastries? Are they boxed and bagged up? I'm planning to visit Le Centre Pompidou afterwards and wondering if it will be too much to carry with me.

They gave us a bag big enough to hold the pastries- I double bagged with waxed paper bags because of all the butter... I will tell u if I had it to do over again, I would have eaten more fresh from the oven! They don’t stay fresh long... if you were able to bring like a ziplock plastic bag or maybe a Tupperware container, they might stay fresh longer.

We took the 3 hour “Advanced” macaron making class, but there were people there who were not very familiar with baking and they enjoyed it as well.
