La Cuisine is a fabulous cooking classes program. Located along the Seine across from Notre Dame. There are many different classes to choose from with varying class durations, so there is literally something for everyone. La Cuisine has a wonderful way of breaking down the recipe so that everyone can participate, understand and then enjoy eating the completed dish or... More

We did the market tour/lunch cooking class and it was perfect. We where promptly met by our host. The tour starts at one of Paris's oldest markets, Marche Maubert. Here you buy the ingredients you use to prepare your lunch. There's plenty of explanation on the ingredients and there sources. Then a walk along the Paris streets before arriving at... More

I bake...a LOT...already, but hadn't yet tried laminated doughs (croissants, pain de chocolat, etc.). What better place to learn than right in Paris? Francis, the instructor, was lovely (and offered me other baking tips on madeleines and where to buy flavourings and supplies) and the class was very informative and easy to follow along. I've been making my way through... More

I would highly recommend the Macaron class. The chef, Eric, was very knowledgeable and patient. He took the mystery out of macarons and gave many technical tips that can be used for other projects. The class size was perfect for all students to get the attention and help needed to make a delicious macaron. Eric made the class fun and... More

If you're a foodie visiting Paris and are feeling the irresistible pull of the kitchen then La Cuisine Paris is the place to get your fix. This was my second class at the school (I took one a few years ago) and when I saw they were offering a class on baguettes and boulangerie I jumped at the opportunity. You... More

My cousin ( a French native) and I took the French Macaron Class. Our instructor Frances was knowledgeable, patient, delightful, and encouraging. The class size was limited to 8 people, perfect for the size of the room. You do not need to bring anything, La Cuisine Paris supplies everything to create the macaroon. But, bring a camera you will definatey... More

I had a blast taking classes at La Cuisine Paris. I signed up for five classes during a week-long visit. (If you do this, ask for a discount for taking five classes.) The people- receptionists, tour guide, chefs- were all very personable, friendly and knowledgeable. I took classes in desserts, breads, croissants, a French market/lunch class and finally, a tour... My husband and I took the Market tour and cooking class. It was the highlight of our trip! Our chef, Lise, and assistant, Molly, were friendly, knowledgeable, and fun! We met across from one of the outdoor markets. As a group, they showed us around the stalls and we discussed what looked fresh. We decided on a menu and bought... More

We booked the bread making class as a fun activity to do on our honeymoon. It was definitely a highlight of our trip. We decided to walk to the store and it was easy to find. We were greeted by the very friendly girl at reception and waited for our class in the cute store area. Our teacher was great... More

I took the soufflé class at La Cuisine Paris. The class was fantastic and Chef Eric explained the entire process so throughly. Also, the young women at the front desk were very helpful and welcoming. They offered suggestions about things to do and food to experience in Paris. Taking the soufflé class was a fantastic experience!

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
