On this trip, we went on two different tours covering Montmartre and the Latin District and honestly, our tour guides were perfect for each of the locations. For the Latin District, we had a small group of only three. Four was the minimum to run the tour. However, our tour guide, Onno, gave the green light and was FABULOUS. He... More

The walking tour (which by the way is a nice idea as you pay or tip at the end what you feel like it was worth) is a great way to start your stay in Paris. Some of the highlights of the town are shown and you get a flair of the history behind the buildings. Obviously in Paris not... More

We (two adults + young teen) visited Paris and started our trip with the free walking tour with Onno. The tour scratches the surface of a wide range of historical events putting some of the major sights into context: a good way to start a few days in Paris.

We did the walking tour with Daniel on our first day in Paris, 17 July. It was the perfect introduction to the city and we found ourselves more familiar with Paris, once we started exploring on our own. Thanks!!

I did the Sandemans walking tour in June 2016 with Onno. Although the tour goes pretty quickly and only briefly takes in each of the locations, Onno provided some fascinating insights into Paris's history and helped make the tour the enjoyable experience that it was. His tip for the selfie at the Mona Lisa proved a masterstroke! I'd recommend this... More

We had Onno as our tour guide. He is from the Netherlands and he was very informative about the history of the places we visited in Paris. He was the perfect guide and the three hours passed so quickly. Well done, Onno! Keep up your very good work. Thanks.

We had a walking tour with Inga to Versailles and just absolutely loved it - best guided tour we have done. So different from anything else - it was like we were walking through a play. Inga weaved a narrative around the tour of the gardens that was delightful, funny and... surprisingly... even emotional. We looked up her little bio... More

The free tour is amazing to understand Parisien people! The other tours (Montmartre, Versailles, Latin tour) are really nice if you have seen the city, if not I will suggest to invest your time in the city.

We had Inga as a tour guide. She was upbeat and showed us so many of the attractions. She avoided the eiffel tower which I actually appreciated since we were planning on spending some time down there anyhow, so glad we got see other things instead! She made sure we were safe and aware of pick pocketers! You walk a... More

My husband and I enjoyed our walking tour with our guide Onno. He was a wonderful guide, gave us lots of information and history and was very fun and energetic. I recommend this walking tour to get your bearings in Paris and check out the famous monuments and historical landmarks.

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
