I had a time on the free walking tour! I would recommend going on a tour with Onno he was very enthusiastic about Paris and was very knowledgable. He was able to answer all questions about how to get places after and I personally liked how he stopped for photos!

After doing many Sandemans tours throughout Europe many years ago, it was my partner's turn to experience these fantastic tours. Nancy certainly didn't disappoint! We strolled through the streets and stopped at sights of interest. Nancy had an excellent knowledge of the French Revolution and was able to share this with us. We both learnt so much in our short... We went for the free tour, montemartre and versailles garden tours. They where all great. The free tour and the montemartre was with the quirky and fun Onno. the versailles tour was with fun and dancing Bruce.

ONNO is the best! This tour was the first thing we did when we got to Paris. I'm so glad we did it. My husband and I enjoyed and learn so much more about Paris as opposed to if we didn't do this tour. We like our tour guide so much we booked another one with him later that evening... More

I went for a walking tour with Onno in Paris in first week of September. Onno was informative and eager to share his knowledge. I really found his tour exciting. Onno's photography skill did help with couple of good pictures. Onno was funny at times and I had a good time on his tour.

We took the free tour with Holly and I learned more from here than from school. Although school was a long time ago haha. It was a great way to see paris and learn some facts in a short time.

We did the free walking tour with Onno and had such a fun time learning about the city. This was the first thing we did when we arrived, and I'd highly recommend it as a great way to learn about the city. Onno was personable and great at bringing the stories to life. Thanks for a fun tour!

I had a free tour with Daniel for 2.5hrs. He was very enthusiastic and informative and managed our group well. You should do this tour at the beginning of your stay in Paris as there are so many little tips that he can help you with. If you haven't done one of these Free tours before, there is no charge... We took this tour on Sep 11th. The tour started almost half an hour behind schedule and didn't cover all the places listed. Though Roberta's energy and her background as a theatre student kept the audience interest, we found it lacked content. Yes, we all know about how this was a 'tips based tour', it wasn't really necessary to be... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighborhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
