It seems like this station has been under reconstruction for about thirty years. Seriously! I've been coming here since the late 80's and was just there in July 2021; it was as bad as ever. Actually worse.
Because of Covid 19 the bathrooms were closed. No bathrooms in a train station!
The wifi was not working either.
Not only is the station in disrepair, but it's not particularly clean either and the little dining tables are splattered with pigeon droppings. Bon appétit!
Unlike the Gare Montparnasse, no announcements are made regarding train arrivals or departures and I did not find the staff there to be particularly congenial or helpful; regarding the lack of toilets the response I got from a couple of employees there was basically: Démerdez vous monsieur!
Overall, not a friendly place for a weary traveler and in all honestly a disgrace to this gorgeous and culturally rich great city. Avoid if at all possible.

We used Gare d'Austerlitz a couple of times and had no problems. It is not always easy to get where you want to quickly, but with a bit of preparation you get through hassle free. We like to check at least a day in advance, sometimes earlier, depending on the length of stay. There is everything a traveller needs, but you also need plenty of patience and perseverance.

Gare De Austerlitz is one of the many stations in Paris that will take you to the local area. There are also trains further afield.
There are connections to the Metro and I would suggest checking out line 5 which takes you through the station. Worth checking out if you like things a bit unusual.
There are aslo RER services on line C to a variety of different destinations including Champ Des Mars where you can admire the Eiffel Tower.
I visited in November 2022 and at this time the trains on the RER were not stopping at St Michel for Notre Dame. This is also a connection for RER line B so be aware!

Still going through a major revamp and chaos reigned. The ticket office was closed and it was i9mpossiblew to get any information. Fortunately, it was a warm, dry day so people were able to wait outside, had it been raining or cold it would have been awful.

I often come to Austerlitz in the three years I have been here, there is always some sort of major refurbishment going on. Its not traveller friendly at all, the new toilets although ultra clean and new with an 80 centime entry charge are a nightmare to navigate through turnstiles with cases. The warm lounge is tiny and inadequate for the amount of train travelling public. There are not many places to get warm at all. It's just everything is all over the place, no cohesion and refurbishment taking too long. I look forward to the day its completed.

We arrived and left Paris at this station. Seems to be going through a major work of refurbishment. We found it chaotic and the signs were only just suitable
No staff around to help and the info office was closed! A Thursday at 11am and it’s closed

Be vigilant with ur bag! I was with my 2 toddlers, one in a strollee and the other hand-held. The damned guy must have been stalking us around already targetting distressed moms with challenged attentiom due to her children. I was ordering for tske away at the counter along the alley and i noticed a guy come close (not lined up behind me, there is a line behind me) as i took my cc from my wallet and left my bag open with my kid fronting it. He was holding a bag too which i guessed covered his picking from my bag. Called the police (17) to report it but since we were travelling back to Limoges they advised to report it there and the security cams are everywhere in there so he can be easily identified if i come to report at the police station.

This is a busy station and can take the Inter Cities train to reach Paris. It is also connected to other metro lines and a stopover for interconnection.

Gare de Austerlitz is one of the main train stations in PAris. As we're staying in Bastille, nearby to place, so we took the RER from this station to visit Palace de Versailles, which was very convenient and direct way to reach Versailles.

Hello
I am reaching Orly Airport (Paris) at 10:30 Am on 30 Nov 18. It would be a Friday.
What is the average time from landing time to check out from the airport and reach the metro station connecting to Austerlitz Gare in Paris?
We have a train scheduled to leave at 12:47 Am from Gare D Austerlitz. Do you think we can catch it? Do the train in France depart 10 minutes later from their schedule time. In Italy trains usually do that.
Thank you

Is this the gare from which 3 of us take to travel to Limoges? What is best way to get here from arriving flights (1Air France, 2American Airlines) at CDG airport? Are best times to travel to Limoges early morning, how do travel time, rates, accessibility differ? (1 senior among us, difficult to 'run' to catch a train!) If best to stay a night in Paris (late arriving flights, long lines and waits to go through customs, difficulty finding each other and train station at CDG airport, etc.), is nearby area safe for hotel, dinner, then easy navigation for early morning train travel to Limoges area? Walk? Taxi? Is it best to pre-purchase train fares? Are train fares transferable or refundable, in case flights are late, or we are stuck at customs, etc? I speak a little French, other 2 travelers do not.
