We did a circuit of Lac Daumesnil with its two islands of Bercy and Reuilly. The two islands are joined by a bridge but the only access point is via Ille de Reuilly. There are boats for hire at one end of the lake. Le Grand Pagode was closed for visiting. We stopped at an old-fashioned restaurant on Ille due Reilly for drinks - Chalet des Iles Daumesil - which was quite pleasant and also enjoyed the Temple Romantique de Ille due Reilly which has a grotto underneath. It was a pleasant and interesting walk. I gather that this lake may also be considered part of the Bois de Vincennes.

Absolutely stunning visually, peaceful. A delightful moment of relaxation & escape, if only for a few minutes. However, I spent half of my morning simply wondering the grounds. A light drizzle moved in and though the tourists may have been scurrying away, the joggers, locals and wildlife carried on. I felt so relaxed and unhurried. I watched swans and geese being fed nearly by hand. I videoed a crow devour a deceased rat. Hey, it's Paris. Of COURSE there are rats. A very short walk from Porte Dorée with its light-rail stop - exempt from the Paris Metro Strike - this quick getaway is a spot I shall revisit, once COVID has moved on and I'm allowed back into Paris. I have a new love in my life. She will adore this space. I'm sure you will as well. I bid you Peace.

If you are in Paris or the vicinities you must visit this place. It is very peaceful away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Surrounded by large gardens thesre is plenty that one can do. Ideal for picnics and family outings. One can also rent a rowing boat and spend an hour or so on the lovely water.

This lake is located within the Bois de Vincennes park. There are boats to rent, green spaces to sunbathe on and benches to contemplate life and watch people as they walk, run and bike through.

We all piled into a big boat and went rowing on the lake. It was sublime and great fun. The lake is fun, the park is beautiful. This is what Parisians do on their sunny weekends.

We had just finished the Promenade Plantee so this was the only area of Bois de Vincennes that we managed to see as we were very tired.
There are two small islands on the Lake accessed by bridges.
We enjoyed watching the rowing boats on the lake together with the geese and peacocks.

Beautiful place for a walk, or for those who are a fan of jogging. Perfect for relaxing or picnicking. On the site, in the summer, you can rent a boat and sail on the lake. Bucolic.

How do I rent a row boat and are they an hourly, half day or full day rental? $ would be nice to know as well.

Thank you, we have been on our trip and back now. Did not make it to Lake Daumesnil, however... we had the best time seeing everything else. Something to do next time we go!
