Neighborhood: Bastille / Oberkampf
Bastille and Oberkampf are lively parts of town made for entertainment. During the day rows of unassuming bars welcome customers for a bite or a drink, but it’s at night this area really comes to life. Students and young professionals fill the busy bars around Bastille and Oberkampf. At Place de la Bastille, crowds flock to the Opéra Bastille in the evening and groups wait for coveted tickets during the day. Towards Republique, skateboarders practice their tricks while others chill out at the square. If you’re looking for late-night revelry, this is your neighborhood.

We were in Paris for about 1 week.
At the second night we planned to go to "Rue de Lappe".

It was a narrow street with lots of bars in two sides.

Let me give an advice :

Do not go there with your family.
The atmosphere in there is not suitable for the families with children.
All the guards near the bars tries to convince you to go inside and say about the options and music .

The drink and food prices are high and some of bars have little space to dance.

If you are with your friends and want to party for a night its ok.

Go at the weekend to see all the bars open.

This street is hopping after dark with young people going to bars. They are loud and lively. But this street has a centuries-long history of nightlife, bars and restaurants, and you will simply see the modern version, more gentrified these days. It used to be a lot of working class dance halls. Oh and it is hard to find a good meal here.

Went there just incidentally. I was surprised by amounts of people present. The bars and restaurants were quite occupied and many of the visitors were just staying and chatting in the street. I think that this is a good place if you are looking for night life and some adventure.

During the day, this is a good place to go to for ethnic food for lunch. By night it fills up with way too many people out drinking. Loud and rowdy, and not in a good way. Some clubs may offer some good music.

This Little narrow street is well worth a visit. A lot of pubs and bars with a little older touch, maybe even a little bit rougher. Food might not be the best in this area, but sure you'll have fun. Close to the Bastilj!

Definitely a place to be in the 11e arrondissement. Very animated at night. Lots of good restaurants and bars.
