Located in the Latin Quarter, Place Saint Andre des Arts is conveniently located to many tourist attractions, including the Sorbonne, Cluny Museum, River Seine and ancient streets that are fun to explore. It is also directly southwest of the famous Saint-Michel Fountain, a popular meeting spot. The buildings around the Place are old but I don't consider any to be architectural standouts. Visitors pour into the area, and I hear more American English here than French or other languages.
Whenever I walk by Place Saint Andre des Arts, except in early morning, it is crowded with tourists. Shops, restaurants and bars pull them in before, during or after sightseeing. The restaurants, however, have a reputation for catering to tourists and not offering quality food. I found that to be true when dining here, but I enjoy sitting outside and having a glass of wine in late afternoon or evening when the weather is warm. I listen to musicians play and watch the passersby. For many, this is the quintessential Paris scene, but I never linger for long, because I prefer a more quiet atmosphere.
Place Saint Andre des Arts is close to the Saint-Michel metro stop (line 4) and to the RER B and C (Saint-Michel, Notre Dame).

This is one of the centers of activity in the University quarter. Lots of restaurants, cafes and movie theaters, and for tourists, historic streets and sites. Come and explore.

Located in the 6th Arr, is this lively square with cafes and bistros, what particularly what took attention was the lovely mural on the blind part of the building depicting leafy trees.

This square is a lively place and the heart of the left bank sites, the schools, the book stores, the movies, the cool cafes, plus a lot of excellent restaurants. Atmosphere.

This spot just typifies Paris in one glimpse, the pedestrian area with the sidewalk cafes, the vibrant buzz of activity under the shady trees, it feels like Paris .

Plenty of restaurants around, close to the banks of the river, and an ambience of traditional Paris. Still bit touristic, but a walk in the little streets around is quite worth while.

This is very lively area with full of people, shops, and restaurants. I truly enjoyed to visit there during my stay in Paris. Place Saint Andre des Arts can be easily reached by metro, or RER or even just by walking from city center.

This is a beautiful section of the city to both visit and stay. Surrounding the Place Saint des Arts are numerous excellent restaurants. As well as places to eat, there are hotels and shops. We stayed at the Holiday Inn - Notre Dame which featured a roof top bar. The view was outstanding. There were so many places to eat in the area that we could not go to all in one week. Transportation is a breeze as the Metro and RER both have stations in the area. We loved staying in this area and look forward to coming back here again.
