You will never regret booking a tour with Josef..our experience was amazing.
The first day Josef took us to Vimy Ridge with stops along the way at Beaumont Hamel where so many of our fellow Canadians from Newfoundland sadly gave up their lives and the Lochnagar crater . The Vimy memorial was an unforgettable sight and a fitting tribute to the Canadians who won that battle.
On that same day Josef treated us to a tour of one of Frances most lovely cathedrals,
and made a stop at Compiegne, the sight of the signing of the WW1 armistice.
Josef is very knowledgeable, interesting and accommodating. He was always taking good care of us..when we were hungry he found a great little bakery in a small town and the lady there made us the best baguette sandwiches ever.
The second day Josef took us to the Palace of Versailles, after which we were treated to a tour of Paris ending at the Invalides museum where Napoleon’s tomb is located.
Jozef picked us up at our hotel each day and brought us back..he is an excellent driver and his vehicle is new, clean and comfortable. He is the best guide that we have had the pleasure of spending time with in our many travels.
We travelled with two of our grandkids aged 17 &18 and they said that Josef made the events of WW1 come alive and their time with him was the best two days of our trip to Paris and we agree.
Thank you Josef..we hope to meet again.

My wife and I, plus another couple, just spent a week in Paris, and our private day-trip Normandy tour was the signature highlight amongst a week of highlights. Our guide was Emilie Silva, a professional with years of experience in the tour industry and a deep knowledge and love of history. Doing this well requires a number of critical skills - navigation and safe but efficient driving over a very long day; serious tour planning to incorporate and sequence many important Normandy sites; profound knowledge of the WWII history around D-Day and the entire Normandy Campaign; great sensitivity in understanding one's guests and quickly getting tuned to their views and needs; and warm and seamless communications abilities in multiple languages. Emilie was not just 'with us' for approximately 12 hours, she became a dear and beloved member of our party from the start with warmth, engagement, interest in our varied perspectives and backgrounds, and beautiful command of the moment. She choreographed visits starting with the German cemetery, then Pont du Hoc, then Omaha Beach (east end)...then slipped in a wonderful respite with a stop at a local apple farm making Calvados and Apple Vermouth...back to the western end of Omaha Beach; on to a lovely lunch spot nearby; on to an extended tour of the day's spiritual and emotional centerpiece, the American Cemetery; then on to Arromanches and finally back to Paris. Emilie had put together over many years her own large notebook filled with special original photos of people, places and events, filled with all kinds of poignant or fun or penetrating side stories. We were all blown away by the experience. I have no idea if all the folks Viator works with are at Emilie Silva's level of grace and talent - it's hard to imagine there are many such people on the planet frankly - but It was a simply indelible experience, and any organization that provides such magnificent talent is doing the stuff that matters right. Thank You Emilie, and Thank You Viator.

I was in Paris with my two daughters who are in their 20's. The three of us had decided that a trip to Normandy would be our one trip outside of Paris. Jozef provided us with a day that I don't think any of us will ever forget. He quickly gauged our interests and designed a trip around us, My daughters were awestruck at the magnitude of the difficulties faced by the troops on D-Day and Jozef makes history come alive. A definite must...

This was the second time that I had used Jozef for a private tour. Two years ago he picked us up at our hotel in Paris and gave us an excellent full day tour of the Normandy sights. This year Jozef suggested a day tour of Champagne. The day far exceeded all our expectations. We were a party of four, and I must admit that one or two of the people in our group were not certain that a full day tour of the Champagne region was for them. Wow! Were they wrong! At the end of the day everyone was very pleased with the experience and, even the two who were not certain that the trip would be for them, admitted that it was a highlight of our trip to Paris. As expected, Jozef was an excellent guide. Jozef was on time, an excellent driver, very informative, very friendly, and the perfect host and gentleman. I would highly recommend Jozef for any full day tour of any sight in the region.

I went to Normandy with alone with Josef on Dec.1 and had a rewarding experience. The private tour exceeded my expectations. The wonderful tour was made possible by the both the huge amount of preparation on Josef’s part and the care which he took to make sure that all questions were answered and all sights were seen. We even stopped at a boutique Calvados distillery and cider maker. I was not bored once during the entire 14 hour trip. My hat off to Private Trip Day Tours. I would recommend Josef and Private Trip Day Tours to anyone.

I would highly, highly recommend Private Trip Day Tours to anyone traveling to France. I was in Paris with a group of friends and we booked a day trip to the Champagne Region. We were able to do both touring and tasting and Deborah worked with us to individualize the trip for us so it was exactly what we wanted. She made organizing the trip easy to do via email which was much more convenient than calling internationally. In addition to the tasting, we were able to see may of the sites in the champagne area. Jozef, our driver / guide, was fantastic - he had such a great personality and was very attentive to us throughout the day. In addition, Jozef's knowledge of the area and history he shared with us was priceless. While in Paris we saw all the main attractions and saw most of the city and without a doubt, this tour was our favorite part of our vacation to France. I can't wait to come back and take another tour with Private Trip Day Tours!!

Let me add to the list of glowing reviews for this tour service. At the outset, setting up the tour with Deborah was smooth and professional. All of my questions were answered promptly. The day before the tour I received a text from Jozef to confirm arrangements and to advise on Normandy weather conditions.

Jozef met us at our Paris hotel at 6:30 AM. He has a comfortable van which easily held the 4 of us. As we drove to Normandy we got to know each other and Jozef began to give us background on the events surrounding D Day. We marveled at Jozef's depth and breadth of knowledge. He is a treasure trove of information, and conveyed that information with passion and respect for the subject matter. It is impossible in a short post to review the entirety of the day. Suffice to say we started with the events in the zone in which American paratroopers deployed, moved to the D Day beaches and ended at the American cemetery. A very moving day.

We all agreed the the tour with Jozef was the highlight of our 18 days in France! Jozef has even provided me with a list of follow up books on the subject. Can I give 6 stars? When we return to France we will be using PT/Jozef for other tours.

My husband and I were in Paris for a quick weekend getaway to celebrate his birthday. While I had been to Normandy and the D-Day sites a long time ago, it was his first time. After checking some reviews for private tours, I came across Private Trip and decided to book - what a great decision!

Jozef picked us up at our hotel and then drove us out to Normandy, immediately creating a rapport and starting the journey out great. We spent all day exploring the D-Day sites (including Pointe du Hoc, the American Cemetery, a British cemetery, Pegasus Bridge, Omaha Beach and more) with excellent commentary. Furthermore, Jozef offered options as to our itinerary to allow us to customize the tour in real time - something that you cannot get on a large group bus tour (well worth the cost in this case!).

I have nothing but good things to say about the entire process and the tour itself - we had a great time and will definitely use Private Trip again in the future for one of their other tours when we are in France for a longer period of time.

Merci beaucoup!

We were in Sweden, Denmark, and France for three weeks and this was my highlight of the trip. Simply awesome. Jozef ("Joe") was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, kind, and funny. The historical pictures he brought were a wonderful touch. He would show you a picture from the invasion or the next day after and then say, "you are standing where this picture was taken" and show you identifying marks in the picture. It was surreal. My wife and kids (17 and 13) had a great time too. We all loved it and would definitely recommend. Well worth the money. Oh, and the place where you have lunch which Jozef knows the owners is really, really good. This is all in addition to being at a historically relevant military event which is sobering. I was in awe the entire time.
