My wife and myself were part of a 24-strong Great Railway Holiday Group who went on the 90 minute Nave Va Boat Trip from Porto this afternoon.

The boat (Andrea Linda Maria) was most impressive - comfortable and spacious with a variety of seating options. The 1330 hours trip started a few minutes late but finished on time and covered all of the sights.

The only downside was the Tour Commentator - not only did he not speak a word of English but he deliberately went out of his way to make jokes at our expense. All very strange but it did little to take the shine off what was a most enjoyable Boat trip.

We chose a grand tour on the small fast boat. Calanches Piana, Scandola UNESCO site, swimming and Gerolata. Our captain was Thomas. It was superb, Thomas was amazing. He provided the tour in English for us as well as French. I am so happy we had Thomas and chose this boat and tour. Very beautiful and perfect amount of time spent at each. Stunning. The boat was a fast speedy one with weird seats where you sit astride like a horse. We had 8 people I think in total. Perfect.

Nave va offers trips to the most beautiful sights of Corsica, some only seen from the sea. The staff is very welcoming and fun, they will make sure you are spending a great, comfortable and unforgettable journey.

The Capo d'Ortu was the ship we cruised on for the Scandola/Girolata/Piana trip as well as the trip to Bonifacio. It's a double decker and you can enjoy the sea view from anywhere you stay. The sea is rather calm most of the time, but if you feel sea sick, the staff is equipped to handle the matters, otherwise you can also check for medicine with your doctor beforewards. There is a mini bar handled by one of the 4 skippers serving sodas, beer (Corsican and One foreign) and coffee.

The Scandola/Girolata/Piana journey starts at 8am, from Ajaccio, a small stop is made at the docks of Porticcio for e rest of the passengers and thr boat heads North. The staff make sure to comment every curioisity on the way, and there are plenty. You will earn a lot about the history of the beautiful island of Corsica. Staff isn't too English fluent, and you will get the most out of the comments if you speak French. They do make efforts though :) The Scandola sight is awesome, boat tries to manoeuvre to e closest of the attraction so that everyone can see and enjoy the view. A stop is made at Girolata for a couple of hours, enough for lunch and a quick visit of the sea/foot accessible only village. The Piana attraction on the afternoon is mind blowing. Journey ends around 6pm.

Bonifacio journey starts at 8am, same drill to Porticcio before heading South bound. A fewer curiosities on the way but some rich information on Corsica too. The stop at Bonifacio is rather quick, 3 hours to have a quick lunch and visit the city. Make sure to know what you want to see, since you are on your own, more or less. At the dock, a small train takes you from thr boat stop to the upper city, where you can visit and eat. However, on the way back, it will take you to thr beginning of the docks and ou will need around 10 min to reach back the boat. The 3 hours stop is not enough in my opinion but it's enou to have a rather large idea of the city. You might like to spend some time there, if you like it since it's a very atypic city.

Prices of Attraction is inexpensive compared to what you get in return, an unforgettable journey.

Overall, it's a more than recommended attraction, staff is amazing and friendly. You can exchange about hiking, mecanics, boats and Corsica with them. Big respect for them!

Do you want to loose time and money? Then go for this trip. I want to start with a lady selling the tickets: she did not speak any language except of French and we had difficulties explaining her what we wanted and she was extremely rude, made us understand that In Corsica they only speak French and not English!

The tour itself lasted for 3 hours and it was a nightmare. There was not a single word or any explanation printed in English. So, we were listening to a language that we did not understand for 3 hours and no one explained anything to us. It is great that people respect their language but we come from Georgia (post soviet country) and unfortunately we do not know French and believe me not everybody is supposed to know French.

Corsica itself is a wonderful place. There are so many nice places to see and explore but those who do not speak or understand French should not take this trip, because this is just waste of time and money.

Ok, Bonifacio is stunning from the sea and definitely worth the trip, but the town itself, whilst quaint, has very little of interest to see apart from the views and the charming streets, which are heaving with tourists. It's seven hours in a boat and four hours in the town, we'd eaten and seen everything in just over two. The trip back was quite rough and sick bags were out in force and spray flying around, the top deck emptied quickly with drenched tourists running for cover. Choose a calm day to go and take a good book!

I took a return boat trip from Ajaccio to Bonifacio. Nave Va is clearly a very well run operation: purchasing the ticket online took me just a couple of min, and the ferry left exactly on time for both Ajaccio and Bonifacio departures. When approaching Bonifacio, the crew did a few loops so that passengers sitting on both sides of the ferry could get some really good pics. The main commentary on the ferry was in French, but one of the crew members checked on me to make sure that I could understand the instructions and would not be left behind by mistake in Bonifacio!

The ferry was clean, and it's possible to buy drinks onboard (very useful as the two legs of the journey add up to 6-7 hours). The ticket price of 62 euros is not cheap, but still reasonable value for money.

When we first entered the boat, the smell was terrible! We could smell vomit everywhere. So, if you are planning to do this trip, please go to the upper deck, where you can get some air.

We have visited Scandola and Girolata. We have spent the whole freeking day on a boat (8:30-18:30) with a 1:30/2h stop in Girolata.

The price was 58€/person. In my opinion this is too expensive for what it is. The view is beautiful but still...

The tourist guide didn’t even speak English. So, if you don’t speak a word of French, it will be hard to understand the explanations. However, the explanations were very good (the only good thing).

Prepare yourself for this trip (in terms of nausea) cause people will start throwing up next to you.

Bonifacio is beautiful and I'm definitely happy I decided to take a boat there since there is a lot of traffic for cars and parking looked impossible. Plus, the view of the cliffs from the boat is really unbeatable. I was a bit disappointed with the smoking onboard. There are signs that say it's a smoke-free space yet people were smoking in the back of the boat. I saw a member of the crew come back and thought he was going to tell them to stop smoking. To my surprise he started to smoke too! This was really the final straw and I asked him what he was doing. Finally he got upset and went back to the front of the boat and never came back. I'm disgusted because we are all on the boat together for 3 hours there and 3 hours back and there's no way to escape the smoke. So this was a huge turn off.

We spent 2 hour 30 mins on this trip which included a 1 hour stop on the Iles Sanguinaire.
The commentary was all in French, I'm sure it was very informative but we struggled to understand with only a little French. The crew do speak a little English.
It was lovely to go to the final island@ Iles Sanguinaire but the shore is very rocky & difficult to actually swim, you need sturdy beach shoes.
Bar & toilets on board. Indoor & outdoor seating available.
€25 per adult, €15 per child.

We were lucky and had a perfect sunny day for our trip to Les Sanguinaires. The whole trip would have been much more enjoyable had the commentary included an English explanation, but the staff did a good job and our journey of about 40 minutes to the islands was relaxing. Going ashore for about an hour and walking to the lighthouse is worth it. The views are stunning and in spring the Marquis both looks and smells amazing. If you are so inclined and it's hot you have time for a dip. The waters are crystal clear. So a thumbs up for the destination, and the tour would get a five rating and the crew would get a tip if there had been information in English. Even a written version of the commentary would be great
