Cat alley
Oct 2019 • Couples
According to tourist info signs, this alley used to be full of cats sitting on rooftops and jumping from one house to the next, hence it’s name. I assume the reason there were so many cats in the past was due to an ample supply of food: rats or mice. Now the city has made the smart decision to renovate the alley and it has number of nice looking restaurants. One shop sells very kitschy cat paraphernalia which is unfortunate but perhaps inevitable with gentrification. We loved the restaurant on the corner Pierre & Clement.

old centre view
Sep 2019
This street is a reflection of how the old centre completely looked like in the old times. Quality mentained buildings.

No cats here
Aug 2019
It's basically just a narrow street. It'll look quaint on your instagram account, but otherwise, not a lot to see here.

Tiny Lane
May 2019
The Chats lane in Troyes, is an alley that runs from Champeaux street to Rue Charbonnet in the "Bouchon de Champagne", the historic heart of the city of Troyes. Very narrow, it gives an idea of the paved medieval streets with a central channel for the flow of water. It was reconstructed after the Great Fire of 1524.

A typical tiny street between houses.
Jul 2019 • Couples
A tiny street with nearly touching roofs. Beware the pigions aming at the visitors. A good simple restaurant is situated there

Cute Tiny Alleyway
Jun 2019 • Couples
Cute little alleyway inbetween two rows of 1500s houses. Overheard a school teacher saying how horseman had to go through one at a time. Lots of pigeons and of course they overhanging roofs.

Quaint cobbled laneway
Jun 2019 • Couples
This is another one of the many things to see in Troyes. The buildings lean in to each other across the laneway, as they do in many others. The history of the laneway is very interesting.

Charming cobbled alleyway - super restaurant lurking......
Jun 2019 • Couples
In truth this is one of many such medieval alleys in Troyes but during our overnight stop we passed through it twice. Once was to dine at Flexi-Troyen, a super little restaurant tucked away there. The preservation of an entire city centre of this age is miraculous!
